J2: The Deception
Jade knew this rescue mission to save the trapped humans was not only dangerous, but it might also be futile. And they could all be killed. The thought of not seeing Jackie or Uncle again made tears come to Jade's eyes. And Jim would probably commit suicide if she never came back since he was the one who sent her here accidentally. With no one competent to lead Section 13, it would shut down and criminals would take over the area instantly. Jade knew she could not afford to die. Too many people were counting on her back home. She had to protect them!
It took two horrid days of traveling to get to the main base where the humans were held captive. Sid and Drago's petty bickering was getting on Jade's nerves. She had a strange suspicion that their arguments were really about something else. It was more like they were fighting over her and she certainly did not have the time to address THAT now. Especially not on Mars' moons. She just hoped and prayed that they all could get back home on Earth. Then Jade could resume her work at Section 13, put Drago away in jail for good, and help Sid get back to his family. She decided executing Drago would be letting him off easy. Solitary confinement would be best for him.
Eventually they were inside a building that Sid said was the place Dr. Betutter kept the captured humans. He told them how everyone feared Betutter and how he seemed to run the whole Mars base operation without any approval of the board back on Earth. Betutter did what he pleased and Sid always suspected that he was up to something sinister. Others doubted his suspicions, but now it was pretty clear that Sid was right all along.
Going down a dark dank hallway, they cautiously peeked around the corner at the end of it. They saw the captured humans, what was left of them, cowering in a huge metal cage. A large humanoid zombie thing was guarding them while an old, yet strong-looking man forced one of the humans to come out of the cage. The frightened person shrieked in pain as the old man chanted some sort of spell, transforming him into another large humanoid zombie thing like the guard.
Sid had seen enough. Without thinking, he angrily tried to charge, but he was stopped suddenly by an organic whip. It wrapped around him and he was promptly slammed into the nearby metal wall. But the whip didn't release him. It dragged him back to the owner and held up high like a rag doll. Before Drago and Jade could react, they were captured by the living whips and were also held up by the owners, which happened to be more of those large humanoid zombie guards. Drago did not fight back since he could sense great demonic power coming from the old man. Who was he? Drago wanted to find out so he kept quiet.
Jade wasn't able to free herself and could tell something was up with that geezer. She could practically smell the dark chi coming off him and he was yards away. Was he like Daolon Wong or what? Sid was right, he really was evil! She could just feel it!
The old man came over to inspect what his 'children' had caught for him. "Well, well! Rebellious spies, hm?" he said. "Betutter!" Sid cried out, still dizzy from the attack. Betutter laughed contemptuously. "What did you hope you could do? Stop me?" he asked, going up to Sid and grabbing his face, pinching tightly. "You annoying filthy gnat!"
Drago's eyes widened, struck by the hatred in the old man's words. It was the same kind of unrelenting hatred demons had for humans... Drago knew this hatred, he felt it pretty much everyday of his life. This Betutter had to be a demon, like himself!
Betutter let go of Sid's face and smirked evilly. "It's a pity you didn't allow any of those distress signals through to Earth. Don't worry. I alerted them myself and soon your worthless friends will come to 'save' you, when in fact, they'll be helping me. We'll take their ships and take this hell back to Earth!"
Sid glared back angrily. "I'll still stop you...!" he sputtered, filled with ire. "Yeah! All three of us will, Butt-terder! You better watch out, I'll kick your ugly mug personally!" Jade shouted, trying to hide her fear by acting tough. Drago growled and snarled viciously at her.
"Shut up, you idiot! Unless you want to die, then go ahead and keep on babbling off your big mouth, stupid!" he hissed, not wanting this 'old man' to destroy Jade on the spot. He wanted to do that and keeping her alive so he could kill her later only seemed to get harder now. Especially with the foolish way Jade ran off her mouth.
Jade was so annoyed with Drago's insulting remarks that she was utterly speechless. Betutter seemed to be amused by that outburst, yet he acted as if he could care less about what any of them said. "Take them to the teleporter room and let my bigger children have some fun with them. They hadn't eaten in days..." he said quite evilly and matter-of-factly, then chuckled lightly to himself. The zombie guards immediately took Sid, Jade, and Drago away without even needing a direct command from Betutter. He merely nodded at them and they seemed to know what he wanted them to do instantly.
Before any of them had a chance to react, they were dumped into a medium sized room with a lot of machinery. Sid was thrown into a wall. Once his head hit the metal, he was knocked out cold. Drago was able to avoid serious injury by landing on his feet when tossed into the room. Jade had fallen on her right arm and it hurt like crazy, but she could still use it without too much trouble.
The zombie guards left and one pressed a button near the entrance. In a split-second, the heavy metal door slammed shut with a ear-shattering boom. It sounded just like an explosion and gave Jade a terrible sense of dread. She raced over to the door and rammed herself against it, hoping to get free. She kicked and punched it several times until she gave up. It was clear that door wasn't going down. She didn't even know if Drago could knock it down.
Jade looked around the room for another escape route. Her heart sank quickly when she saw that there was no other way out other than the stupid door they were roughly pushed through. Suddenly, a panel on the far right wall opened up and a room behind a protective glass shield appeared. Betutter was inside the room, laughing like a fanatic. "Kill them my children!" he yelled and a portal appeared right behind Sid, who was still unconscious.
Two HellKnights came through the portal and both roared ferociously as soon as they saw Sid at their feet, ready to feast upon human flesh. Drago was climbing the walls towards to the room Betutter was in. He scratched and clawed at the glass, then began punching it. Betutter was not in the room anymore though. Drago thought this might be a good place to escape.
Jade was desperately trying to help save Sid's life by distracting the HellKnights away from him. But to her horror, the portal sucked Sid into it and he was gone! Drago finally broke through the glass and scrambled back down to the floor to get Jade. She was hiding behind some tall towers of machinery.
"Come on! I found a way out!" Drago hissed, tugging at her arm. Jade resisted, worried about Sid. "But Sid got sucked into that thing! I have to save him! We can't leave him behind!" she cried, her eyes wild with panic. No way was she going to leave Sid to die like that. He was a fellow secret agent like her. All alone without no one to care about him or save him. That would be such a terrible thing to have happen to anyone.
Drago growled at her with disgust. "Yes we can! He's nobody! Let's go!" He tugged at her arm again, but Jade yanked free and ran to the portal. "NO! You idiot! Come back here!" Drago screamed, chasing after her. A HellKnight stopped him in his tracks and he was forced to fight the huge monster. Jade narrowly escaped the other HellKnight and jumped into the portal. Drago hissed angrily at the sight and made himself go in after her.
The HellKnights were about to follow when Betutter's voice was heard, even though he was nowhere in sight. "No, leave the fools to their doom. I need you two for something else. An outsider and his human slave will be coming here soon. They will go through this portal for reasons I do not trust. Your job is to destroy the human slave. Now, go! Go and patrol the building. I can not have anything jeopardize my plans..." The beasts went to do as they were told, roaring and snarling as they went.
Back on Earth, a beautiful woman with long wavy black hair made her way unseen in Section 13. In the dead of night, she sneaked past a multitude of guards with the help of special magic. She had to reach Shendu before it was too late. Their son was in terrible danger and she could sense it was so severe that she would need the Fire Demon's help. Surely, with all the work they went through to create Drago, he would help her save their only son.
Meechi Sung was almost to the holding chamber that held Shendu, but felt a feeling of deep dread and sorrow. She had loved him greatly, but now she knew the truth about him. He never cared about her whatsoever and only used her to bear a child for him. He was the only one who seemed to care about her back then during her times of need. Now, she was stronger, but cursed by her husband to live forever as his slave with no hope of a normal life.
After Drago was born, Shendu was no longer the 'caring, loving devoted' husband she thought he was. She was forced to do everything Shendu commanded. She could not dress, eat, or do anything the way she wanted, nor have any friends as well. Absolutely none. If any other men even so much as looked at her with any interest, Shendu would make sure something horrible would happen to them.
The people in her village knew she was odd and an outcast, but after being with Shendu so long, they all found out she was cursed too, since anyone near her always met an untimely demise. Shendu disapproved of anything that would benefit Meechi and/or make her happy.
When Drago was old enough to talk, he harassed her as well. He became extremely insolent and hateful. He was hard to deal with and he even burned down the sacred forest his mother swore to protect. It was Drago's job to protect it too, but he did the opposite since he loved doing evil deeds like his father.
Eventually, Meechi had to escape from them both to save her sanity and soul. Luckily, she was able to hide herself in a mystical house by the magical Secret Sea. A mysterious angel that looked like an old wizard appeared to her one day while her husband and son were away for a week (when Shendu took Drago to Mars' moons to become a 'man'). The angel told her of the Safe Haven near the Secret Sea and he told her demons could not reach that place due to their negative hate energies.
Immediately, Meechi had set off for that magic place and she did find it after four long hard days of searching. And that was where she had stayed for years. Safe, but alone. She was too afraid to leave the Safe Haven knowing Shendu would kill her for leaving him suddenly like that. She feared Drago would harm her as well since he was so out of control and enjoyed hurting anyone, anything.
As the years went by, Meechi realized she was not growing older and probably would never die. She was going to live forever and always be alone. She soon came to terms with herself that she had to try and change her life around. Even if it meant she would be killed by Shendu, she rather have that instead of living forever without any human contact. She could not stay at the Safe Haven forever without anyone else there with her.
She decided to try and find human companionship and perhaps take that person with her to the Safe Haven to be free of Shendu. Then she could live a normal life. Suddenly she reconsidered all that. If she did find a man to live with, he would grow old and die, then she would be all alone again. And if they had any children together, Shendu surely would want them dead. She could not force them to stay at the Safe Haven and they would be subject to Shendu's wrath and jaws once they went into the real natural world.
No. Her life ended long ago back when she first met Shendu. She wished now that he did kill her back then, but he didn't since she begged for her life and he had new plans to use her. She was going to confront him and have him end everything by killing her. Then he wouldn't be able to control or use her ever again. She was just trying to work up a nerve to see Shendu again and ask for death. She had to be ready for all this, it was not easy to want to die when you love life and nature.
When she sensed Drago was in trouble, it was a good reason for her to finally see Shendu. She did love Drago, even though he was a hell raiser. For once, she would try to be fearless and stand up to the both of them. She wouldn't care if Shendu killed her, it was what she preferred now. To live a cursed life was not what she wanted. She doubted Shendu would lift the curse from her and allow her to live a normal life. That was out of the question, she was sure of that. If Shendu did you a favor, it had a million strings attached to it.
Meechi chanted a spell to open the heavy metal circular door and slipped inside. It was pitch dark except for a pair of glowing red eyes. She took off her cloak she was wearing and laid it down, trying not to make a sound. In her cloak was a weapon she was sure she would need later. If Shendu knew of it, he would never trust her nor help her.
She could hear strange sounds, ghostly demonic sounds swirling all around her. Meechi found the flashlight she carried with her and pointed it towards the eyes. She saw her husband in a coiled form of hard stone behind a criss-cross cage of metal bars. A hateful hiss nearly spooked her out of the room.
"Who daresss??" Shendu snarled, electricity shooting out from the floor beneath him. Meechi forced herself not to be afraid. It would only make him stronger against her. As boldly as she could, she stepped up to him to announce herself, but Shendu saw who it was when his electricity sparked up moments earlier. It lit up the room for a few seconds, long enough for him to recognize her.
"...Meechi..."
The way he said her name made the hair on the back of her neck stand up. "Sh-Shendu, our son is in danger. We must go save him." she simply said, desperately trying to keep all fear out of her voice. He kept silent, seeming to be angry with her. It was hard to tell since he was stone now. She reached out through the bars and touched his cold rock skin. An immediate hiss made her pull her hand back. Did her touch hurt him?
"You dare to touch me after all these years? Traitorous slave! Leaving me without a word equals death to all of my slaves! How you escaped me for so long, I'll never know..." he growled in that voice that scared Meechi often. It was so serpent-like, so hateful, so evil. For a few moments, neither said a word. Meechi knew she would lose her nerve if she did try to say anything now. She did want to help Drago out of danger before she was killed...
Shendu seemed to sigh then, like he was relenting and trying to get rid of his rage. "You can make it up to me by freeing me from this prison. Then I promise I won't kill you for your dirty traitorous ways." he said in a softer, more appealing tone. Meechi suddenly flared up. He acted as if she was bad and he was in the right for treating her like dirt.
"No! I want you to kill me! I don't want to live forever cursed like you made me! I don't want to be your slave eternally!" she cried out in anger. Shendu laughed gently, knowing he was in control of her like always. "Ahh, so sweet Meechi welcomes death...? Then I truly promise to never kill you. Since a never-ending life causes you so much torment, you are more than worth keeping alive than I first thought. You should be honored to be the first slave I don't want to kill."
Meechi wanted to cry. She had made a mistake by letting her anger control her. Once again, Shendu had the upper hand. Her thoughts went to suicide, but as if he could read her thoughts, Shendu had something to say.
"Ending your life by your own hands won't work. I've already had that figured out long before I hexed you, my dear. I've lost too many slaves that way so many times before. You are immune to death unless I grant it to you. I am not a fool, Meechi. You'll never be free of me. Never. Besides, why would you want to be free of me? Wasn't it I who saved you out of poverty and made your father happy before he died? I had spared your life when I could have easily eaten you alive back in those woods. For all my generous gifts, you owe me an eternity of servitude, Meechi."
Meechi bit her lip and forced all her emotions away. She had to make sure Drago was safe and get Shendu to kill her somehow afterwards. She wouldn't achieve either one if she let her emotions get the best of her. She had to play this smart and get back at him by having him take her life, thus losing a perfect breeding slave forever. She would finally be free of him for real at last once he took her life. He wouldn't be able to get her soul since the angel she had met told her how to keep her soul safe after she died.
Of course, she could leave him in his stone form and be free of him that way, but there was always Drago and he could easily harm her just the same and he could free Shendu from stone somehow too. Plus, she would still be cursed. Living forever alone was not what she wanted. She wanted to be free from all their evil. She wanted closure.
"You are right, my love." she said, hoping he wouldn't be suspicious of her sudden change of behavior. "What can I do to make it up to you for disappearing all those years ago? Tell me and I will do it. Just help me in saving our son. I don't believe you'd let all our hard work go to waste by forgetting about Drago. He's special and our only son. He's perfect for your cause, in the way of evil."
She could feel Shendu probing her mind instantly, inspecting her thoughts carefully. "I don't trust you, my sweet. But I am without choice. My Talismen, your filthy kind has them locked away. I shall possess your thoughts and you will know where they are. Retrieve them and bring them to me. Put the discs into the holes you see in my stone skin and when they are all in place, I will be flesh and blood again. Then I shall help you in saving Drago. Now, hurry!" Before Meechi could protest to his mind possession, he did so in an instant and like a puppet, she got the Talismen undetected.
Soon, she was back and like a zombie, putting the Talismen into the empty holes in Shendu's skin. When the last disc was inserted, Shendu released his mind hold on her and transformed. The loud explosions of breaking concrete and metal somehow did not attract the attention of Section 13's security. Meechi figured it was because of Shendu's sorcery.
She wondered why he never possessed her before like he did now. He could easily keep her around and do as he pleased that way. What she didn't know was that Shendu did not like possessing slaves into being willing mindless zombies. He'd rather have them be unwilling and torture them mercilessly. He had the power to force any slave to do whatever he desired against their will. Dominating and controlling his slaves and victims until he broke them, those were the tortures he enjoyed much more in doing than simple easy possessions.
He stood in front of her, his towering height and bulging muscles filled her with dread, awe, and to her shame, lust. Before she was able to escape to the Safe Haven, she was forced to mate with him so many times after Drago was born that she had lost count and eventually she realized he never really loved her at all. He only loved to rape and torture her. Due to his enchantments on her, every painful session made her lust for him despite the humiliation and suffering. She hated this terribly, but her body seemed to have a mind of its own and lusted for her tormentor.
Suddenly, he was upon her and assaulting her body with vicious and hungry licentious licking and biting. Much time passed as he worked them both up to a climax. She raked her fingernails over his scales as she arched her back passionately, moaning for him over and over. Her lustful demeanor was humiliating her again after all these years. The intercourse was long and hard, as every session was with him. Sweaty and exhausted, Meechi knew she had to get Shendu mad enough at her so he would kill her. She did not want to go through these constant rapes anymore. She couldn't complain to him about them being rapes since she always expressed great lust during them. She looked hypocritical, plus endured so much pain every time and she couldn't stand it anymore. Death seemed to be the only way out now.
Meechi used to like the way he 'lovingly' stroked her face and kissed her after mating, but it was because she thought he loved her. She knew better now and squeezed her eyes shut in anger and sorrow. He had broken her heart so many times and he acted as if she had some nerve to disapprove of how he treated her. Any 'kindness' he showed was all pretend and he saw her as nothing more than a sex toy. Meechi was glad he didn't notice her hurt feelings, it would only give him more power over her and he didn't deserve any.
Eventually, Shendu got off of her and stretched. Being stone for so many years straight had frozen his fire production, he needed that wild mating to get his fire going again. There was no fear in him overheating this time. "We shall go to Drago and get his foolish hide out of the mess he's in. But only because he was so hard to create, otherwise I could care less. I will open a portal to take us close to where he disappeared to." he said, pointing a wicked claw in the air and cutting it open.
Meechi had seen him cut open portals from nowhere many times, but she had not ever gone through any of them with him. It probably was going to be painful, she was sure. "Disappeared? I can't tell where he is at all, except he's somewhere faraway. You can't find him either now?" she asked, worried if she was already too late.
Shendu snorted contemptuously. "I can find him and I know where he is. He is on Mars moons, why I don't know nor do I care. When I said 'disappeared', I meant he went through a portal to the Netherworld. I rather not go there and I won't. I will take you to that portal and you can go to the Netherworld to retrieve him." He looked down at her and whacked her down with his tail. Meechi was in a world of hurt after that painful assault.
"You will be severely punished for leaving me, Meechi. Hiding from me is a foolish thing to do, but coming back is even more foolish. You will begged to be raped, it will be far less agonizing than what I have planned for you, wench." he said with great hatred, watching her crawl away toward a rumpled cloak near the door.
Meechi struggled to get the hidden sword in her cloak and prayed Shendu wouldn't figure out what she was about to try next. Defending herself was a very offensive thing to Shendu. Not trusting how she was acting now, he pounced on her like a jungle cat, growling like one as well.
In a flash, Meechi lashed the long blade of the gleaming sword at Shendu's chest and succeeded in cutting him. He screamed in agony and fell back disgracefully. Blood streamed from the wound on him. Meechi stood up and held the sword up, ready to strike again. "I have things planned for you too, Shendu!" she cried, shaking with pain and some triumphant. "You ARE going to go with me to the Netherworld and rescue our son, whether you like it or not! For once, you're going to listen to ME!"
Shendu hissed angrily, but Meechi could see that he was afraid of the sword. She was so glad that the angel had given it to her. He said it was enchanted and he seemed to be right, Shendu was weak against it. "You dare use the symbol of the Immortal who imprisoned me? You are the most traitorous slave I have ever had! You will pay for this dearly...!"
"And I hope I pay dearly with my life!" she said, trying to bait him. Shendu laughed, seeing through her one plan. "It will be challenge for me not to kill you for my hatred is so great. Such a smart slave, trying to anger me into blowing up and ending your life. It's not going to happen, my dear. Never." he purred, knowing that denying death to her would upset her to no end.
It was Meechi's turn to laugh. "I know you, Shendu. You can't control your emotions any better than Drago can. I'll be able to get you to kill me. I'm good at making you angry and you know it."
Shendu could feel that undeniable explosive hatred for humans growing stronger by every passing word Meechi spoke. He really had to control himself again like he did back when he first tricked Meechi. It would be hard not killing her now, she had a formidable weapon that would protect her well from him and could insult and anger him to no end. She wouldn't have to worry about him releasing some of his anger by beating her every so often as the sword would keep him at bay. Eventually, that built-up immense anger of his will make him explode into a blind rage and he would kill her instantly to relieve that volcanic emotion. Then he will lose her for good and she was too rare of a perfect mating slave to forfeit.
"You won't have the upper hand for long, Meechi. Once I have my chance, you will wish you never had defied me..." Shendu growled. If he had known keeping Drago alive was this much trouble he wouldn't have even made him. 'That stupid kid can't even take care of himself! It's his stupid mother's blood in him that makes him so helpless and weak. This will be the only time I go and save him, then that's it. He's on his own for good, I could care less!' he thought scornfully and opened the portal wider so he could bring Meechi with him. "Let's get this over with."
As they went through the portal, a dark figure dressed in red garnet from head to toe followed them unseen...
