J2: The Deception
Jim was glad to see Tohru visiting a few days after the SS bust operation. No one was seeing him lately, not even Carl. He did call him saying he thought he met the woman of his dreams and was using all his free time in pursuing her.
He bitterly closed his eyes in disgust. 'I have a woman of MY dreams, but she's been brainwashed by a monster...' he thought to himself angrily. He would have used his black or good chi magic to heal himself, but that would look strange to his co-workers if they saw his broken leg all better just like that.
He never told anyone at work about Drake being Drago, a powerful secret he planned to reveal at the right time. Captain Black had visited him days before telling him to not blackmail Jade otherwise he would be fired.
He didn't want to appear negative to Black, so he said he would not bother Jade like that anymore. Black seemed satisfied by Jim's compliance and left.
Even though Jim wanted to tell Captain Black about Drake being Drago, he didn't think he would believe him. Jim didn't really have any proof since he never saw Drake turn into Drago.
He had only heard Drago admit himself that he was Drake, but that was all. It would be a 'he said, he said' type of thing and he needed more proof before he blew the lid off the Drake and Drago being the same person thing.
Seeing Tohru, his old sensei, made Jim want to confide in him with the secret he knew about Drago. He had to talk to someone about it, someone he could really trust.
"Konnichiwa, Sensei." Jim greeted respectfully. Tohru smiled at him and put a covered bowl of soup on the little table near Jim's bed. He made himself comfortable in a chair close by.
"Hello, Jim. I brought you some nice soup. It'll help with any pain you may be feeling." he said, tapping his massive hand on the bowl in a friendly manner.
Jim looked at the soup and turned away to stare at the wall in front of him. It was a pale ugly green. How he hated the color green!
"The only pain I feel is in my heart. Big T, you know how I like Jade, right?" he asked, still staring ahead at that stupid hideous green wall. Tohru nodded.
"Yes, but I take it that she likes someone else named Drake Raze. She has told me many nice things about him. She never stops talking about him." Tohru said, feeling weird. He was no good at conversations like this.
"Has she ever told you that he's really Drago?" Jim said bitterly, without thinking first. His anger made him just say that without hesitation. Tohru was shocked and confused instantly.
"I'm sorry, I didn't hear you right. Did you say that Drake is really...Drago?"
"Yes. I did." he said looking at his teacher. "But no one else knows that except you and me...And Jade." Jim added hatefully.
Tohru was still in shock as worry seeped into him. He saw Jade as a daughter in a way and knowing she was infatuated with a deadly murderous wanted criminal stunned him.
"Are you sure about this? I've seen photos of Drake before. He doesn't look like Drago." Tohru said, not wanting to believe this horrible information.
"I heard Drago himself admit it. Why would he admit something like that anyway? He's him, I know it. When Drake was working here, almost everyone got poisoned like crazy. Two people died too, Hank and Jerry. Drago's a monster, a real evil monster! Jade knows all this and she still fools around with him! I'm trying to save her, but she treats me like I'm a bad guy! I just can't take it, T!"
Jim clenched his shaking fists in ire. "I love her, Tohru... But she doesn't care. She thinks she loves him..." Jim shook his head as tears burned in his eyes, threatening to fall.
Tohru shook his head too. "I never knew this. I mean, Drago! How awful... I must tell Uncle and Jackie right away." he said, getting out of his seat. Jim wiped at his eyes while Tohru wasn't looking.
"Yes, you should. If I told them, Jade would only hate me more. Just don't let them or Jade know that I told you, alright? I have enough problems as it is." Jim said, motioning to himself.
"I'm guessing Drago did this to you, right?" Tohru asked. Jim nodded angrily. "Yes, that monster did. I wanted him to leave Jade alone, but he won't listen to reason and he tried to kill me."
"You shouldn't have taken him on by yourself." Tohru said, frowning. "We don't want you to get killed. Besides, Jade didn't talk only about Drake, er, Drago. She did talk about you too."
"What did she say?"
"She said that you're one of her best friends in the whole world and she cares for you a lot." Tohru noticed his watch and discovered he was late for a dentist appointment.
"Oops, I better go. I have to get a teeth cleaning done at two o'clock. Hope you feel better soon, Jim." Tohru went out the door in a rush, leaving Jim alone with his upset, angry thoughts.
'That is such a lie. If she cared anything about me, she would come to me without a second thought. I have to prove to her that she's making a big mistake by being with that demon. I have to save her, but how? How??' Jim grew even more upset when a terrible itch in his cast suddenly appeared and he couldn't scratch it.
That itch seemed to be like Drago, someone Jim couldn't get rid of and barriers were in the way. 'When I get the other half of the Arcana, I'll destroy you, Drago. Then I'll be able to save Jade from your evil hold. And...she'll finally be mine at last...'
One day, Meechi went to the city without Sid while he was taking care of things at Section 20 for the new upcoming mission.
She carried some protection in form of a high beam flashlight with pepper power spray attached to it, plus she had an additional can of mace as well. She went shopping in bliss since she never got to before when she lived with Shendu.
She kept him from her thoughts since she was so happy now with Sid. But she knew she would have to do something to end her marriage with the Fire demon. She just didn't know what yet.
Meechi liked how the merchants were in these modern mall shops. They treated her with respect since she appeared rich and so well-dressed.
She looked like she came from high society, cream of the crop when she really started out as a penniless peasant. Unfortunately, she had Shendu to thank for her wealth and beautiful possessions.
With a sigh, she thought of him even though she promised herself not to. His face, his voice, even his name brought great fear to her.
Despite all her woes caused by him, she felt guilty as if she owed him still even though she spent her days with him as a slave. He was the only one to save her from poverty and to make her father feel happy, thinking Meechi would be well-cared for and he died happy because of it.
Shendu gave her a son, someone that she knew loved her for real (even if it was an ounce of true love, it was more than Shendu would ever do for her) and she loved her son back.
But the Fire demon's reasons for 'helping' her were only selfish and evil. She wished more than anything that Shendu's 'love' for her was real. But it never was.
Still in the deepest corners of her mind, she fantasized about her being with Shendu, a very different version of him. A good kind loving version, what he used to be before he fell and went on a quest to try and obtain godhood.
She wondered if she could help him change back to being good, but deep in her heart she knew that was a foolish idea. Shendu passed on his hard-headed ways onto Drago.
She could see in her son that what he wanted was what he wanted, no one could stop him. Shendu was no different, he was worse even. He would never change his mind, besides he acted as if she was insulting him whenever she hinted him to do such.
As she sat down on a mall bench to rest a bit, Cobra appeared from nowhere. She was startled and glared at him. What did this boy want now? Why didn't he just rob her and get it over with?
"What are you doing here? Did Drago send you?" she asked testily. She did not trust this teenager.
"No, no! I was strolling around here when I saw you. I'm happy I did, I want to talk to you." he said, filled to the brim with puppy-love. She kept a watchful eye on him and tried to relax. She didn't think he would try anything in a public place.
"Why do you want to talk to me? You don't even know me." she said, making sure her purse and valuables were placed away from him. Cobra happily gazed at her beauty, infatuated deeply.
"But I want to get to know you! Miss uh, um..." He felt silly since he didn't even know her name. Meechi narrowed her eyes. "Mrs. Sung."
"Nah, what's your first name? I'm Michael, though my homies call me MC." he said, sticking his hand out. She shook it cautiously. "I'm Meechi." she said, then sighed tiredly, shaking her head.
"Meechi... That's a really exotic beautiful name, yo." he said, looking her over again and making her more nervous.
"Well, uh...Michael, I have to be going now. It was nice talking to you." she said, hoping he would take a hint. But unfortunately he didn't. As she got up from the bench to leave, he followed after her like a happy puppy.
"Wait, pretty lady! I still want to talk to you!" he said, chasing her outside of the mall. He kept on tailing her for a few blocks down a deserted street, a road she had to travel to get back to Sid's apartment. Meechi got fed up and showed him her can of mace threateningly.
"Leave me alone! Stop stalking me!" she cried, facing him and backing away at the same time. Cobra watched her go, still following her, but slowly. He was flabbergasted. He wasn't trying to hurt or stalk her. He just liked her a lot, that was all.
Suddenly, like before when he met her, a mugger appeared from an alley and grabbed Meechi from behind. She was startled and lost her hold on the mace.
"Give up the cash, b-tch! Now!" the mugger demanded, ripping her purse away. Angrily, Cobra raced to them and put his martial arts to good use on the mugger. He punched the jerk off of Meechi and she jumped away, gasping in fright.
Cobra was able to knock the mugger unconscious and was pleasantly surprised to see Meechi still standing there. He thought she might have ran away, but she didn't. He picked up her purse where the mugger had dropped it when Cobra belted him in the gut with a kick.
"Are you alright?" he asked, handing her purse back to her and gathered up her mall purchases. She took her purse back in a daze. She looked at him with wonderment.
"Thank you..." she said, slowly trusting him a little. Maybe he wasn't such a thug afterall. This was the second time he saved her. Seeing that she was grateful filled him with extreme joy and pride.
"Um, is it ok if I walk you home? You might get attacked again." he offered, hoping like crazy she would accept. She smiled gently.
"Alright. I think I would like that, Michael. You're not as bad as I first judged you to be." she admitted, allowing him to carry her mall goods.
"Aw, man! You thought I was bad? Naw, I'm cool. What'd make you think I was bad, yo?" he asked, happy to be walking side by side her. Meechi gave him an embarrassed look.
"I'm sorry. I just don't trust people anymore. My...husband...really ruined my mind and I have a hard time living normally." she said, feeling strange confiding to a young boy like Cobra. A boy she hardly knew, but his helpful actions aided her into trusting him a tad. Enough that she would talk to him.
"I can understand." he said and meant it. He had seen Drago's father before and man! He was all-out evil, a huge demon. Cobra couldn't figure out how Meechi even had Drago with a monster like that, but she did somehow. But he could tell why Shendu picked Meechi. She was unbelievably hot and sexy!
Eventually, they were on the block where Sid's apartment was. Before she left, she wanted to give him something.
"Here, let me pay you for your help. You've earned it." she said, opening her purse. Cobra immediately refused, feeling as if it was his duty to save her from scumbags.
"Naw, naw. Keep it, yo. A guy's supposed to help out a lady in distress." he said, full of squishy happiness all over. Meechi smiled and gave him some money anyway.
"I insist. It's hard to find a young man that's willing to help out someone he hardly knows. I wouldn't mind having a bodyguard around, so I'll give you a job." She pulled out a pad of paper and a pen.
She had an idea to employ this boy to keep her more safe when she went anywhere by herself. Plus, she had a feeling he wouldn't stop chasing after her if she didn't give him this type of job anyway. She would need a bodyguard more so when Sid had to go on his Section 20 missions.
"Write down your number and I'll call you when I need your services of protection." she said.
Cobra happily gave her his cel phone number with glee. He had a job just like that! Cool! Meechi gave him a hug and walked to Sid's apartment door. Cobra waved as she waved back with a smile.
After she closed the door, the teen let out an extremely happy sigh and went along his way. He couldn't wait to tell Ice and Fist about this!
Meechi placed her purse and mall bags on the kitchen table and went to her room to change her clothes. As she switched on the light in her room, a frightened gasp escaped her when she saw she wasn't alone.
"Hi, Mom."
Meechi held her hand to her chest over her heart. "Drago!" she cried angrily. "Don't scare me like that! How'd you get in here?" she asked, growing suspicious and nervous again. The last time they met, he tried to rape her.
"I have my ways. How are you, Mom? Having fun with Sid and forgetting all about me?" he asked in a touchy manner. Meechi knew she couldn't change her clothes with her scary son around, so she just stood there.
"I'm not forgetting about you." she said simply and turned to leave the room. He followed her quickly close behind. "Oh? You could have fooled me. You never call or write or anything."
She went to sit down at the kitchen table and wished he would go away. She didn't feel like dealing with him now. As much as she loved him, he was her tie to Shendu and a big reminder of her old life with the Fire demon too. A life she never wanted to remember.
"I don't have a phone number to call or an address to write to, Honey." she said, worrying to death that he would overpower her and then rape her.
"Remember the house you raised me in? That's the address you write to. And here's my cel phone number." He put down a piece of paper with a number on it.
Meechi noticed the beautiful jade ring with an opal in it on his clawed finger. "Where'd you get this?" she asked, grabbing his hand and trying to get a better look at it.
Drago eagerly sat down next to her and showed her. "Jade gave it to me on my birthday. We're getting married." he said, wanting to share this with her. Meechi was blown away and very joyful for him.
"Jade? You mean that pretty lady I met when I tried to save you from Hell?" she asked, surprised. Drago nodded with pride. He was pleased that she seemed to approve wholeheartedly.
"Yes, her."
"Oh, Sweetie! That's wonderful! Congratulations, Honey!" she praised, hugging him even though that put her in danger. Her son was not to be trusted. But she forgot since she was so happy for her son.
"Thanks, Mom." he said, fighting the horrid urge not to attack her. He still wanted to get her, but having Jade tamed that lustful insanity inside him to a point where he could actually keep his claws off his mother.
"My baby boy is growing up." Meechi said proudly. "You must invite me to the wedding. Don't forget." Drago nodded again. "Of course, Mom."
"Tell me more about her. I want to know what she's like. Afterall, you've spent more time with her than I have." Meechi said, having a rare moment where she was enjoying being with her son.
"Oh, Mom, she's perfect! Just perfect... She understands me and doesn't judge me or anything. I can tell her things I can't tell to anyone else and she listens to me. She makes me really happy too. And if we fight, we can make up, snap! Just like that. Man, I love her..." he said excitedly.
His mother gave him a gentle smile. She was so grateful to see him behave so...normally. Meechi was so happy for him. "I'm glad for you, Baby. I was worried that you'd never find someone, but you have. I will be honored to have her as my daughter-in-law."
Drago cupped his mother's hands together, pleased. After that blow-out with Jade's parents, it was good to know his mother accepted Jade easily.
"Thanks, Mom. That means a lot to me. I used to think lust and love were the same things, but Jade showed me what real love is, Mom. It makes me feel...good inside and... I kinda like it..." he admitted, feeling like a traitor to his evil side, but he couldn't help how he felt.
Meechi's eyes welled up with jubilant tears. She could tell he meant what he said. She was overjoyed that he was finally acknowledging his human side and actually liking the good feeling that came from experiencing true love.
"Oh, Drago! I'm so proud of you!" she cried and hugged him again, but harder. "How I've waited for a day like this to come..." she whispered, letting her happy tears slide down her cheeks.
Maybe now that he had Jade, he wouldn't try to pursue her anymore. Drago hugged her back the best he could normally.
"So have I, Mom... So have I."
When Cobra found his buddies, Ice and Fist, they were breaking into another parked car and trying to hot-wire it. "Yo, yo, yo! Guess what!" he said, going over.
Ice was making Fist do most of the work and leaned against the side of the car. "What up, MC? Give me some skin, bruth-uh." he said, giving him a high-five.
"I scored a job, yo!"
"For reals? How?"
"You know, Drago's mom? Man, she's so cool! I saved her from a mugger hours ago and she said I could be her personal bodyguard!"
"Cool. Now we can rob her without her knowing. You can take her out and do your bodyguard thing while DJ and I clean her out. Where does she live?"
Cobra didn't like the sound of that. "Hey! I don't want to lose this job, yo! She doesn't deserve to be robbed, she's way too great, man! Besides, you want D-man to beat the ever living sh-t out of us? He's protective of her."
Ice snickered. "Yeah, 'cuz he wants to sleep with her. Hey, DJ! How's the job coming along?" he asked the larger silent teen. He gave him the thumbs up.
"Whatever, man. Just leave her alone. I want have a real job instead of ripping off people to make it in this world. I'm out, yo." Cobra went off, feeling not as close to his buddies anymore. He decided to avoid them from now on.
Jade felt bad for not visiting Jim when he was still sick in bed. No one seemed to object having Drake back at Section 13, so she figured Jim never told anyone about Drake being Drago. That or no one believed him since Drake didn't look like Drago, of course.
It was week since Drago was back on the job in Section 13 and everything was running smoothly. The Flash Bang gang was flushed out of their hiding places when Drago went on that mission alone. Jade worried if the fiery teen had killed anyone, but that didn't seem to be the case.
The leaders of the Flash Bang gang actually gave themselves up willingly saying they rather go to jail than lose their souls. Drago, while in human form, followed the gang leaders as they rushed into Jade's office begging to be incarcerated so they could keep their souls.
Jade gave the teen a look. She could imagine how Drago must have threatened them, but nevertheless it worked well. Drago ordered other agents to take them away to Section 13's holding cells.
Once they were taken away, Drago locked the office door so he could talk privately to her.
"I thought you said that gang was tough." he said, with a smug smile. Jade went to him automatically and snuggled in his arms.
He was pleased to have her behave this way, so completely willing and wanting to be near him. His days chasing after her were over. She was his now and forever.
"Well, I guess you proved us wrong then." Jade said, dabbing kisses on his lips. In a spur of passion, he kissed her back hard and long.
He pushed her down upon her desk and tried pulling her belt off, so he could remove her pants. She pushed him away, surprised that he would try something like that in her office. This was still a public place.
"Drago, stop it." she said irritably. She had some trouble getting him off her, but a warning whack to his head made him finally stop.
"We've had sex everyday now. Enough is enough. I want us to do something else besides acting like rabbits." she said, going to her chair behind her desk. She went to work straightening up the mess on her desk created when Drago pushed her onto it.
"Oh come on! What else is there in life?" he complained, annoyed that he was denied his favorite activity. "You said I should expect sex after busting those idiots for the SS operation crap. Now you're saying the opposite. You're a hypocrite, plain and simple."
"I am not! I also said that I wanted us to do other things besides humping away at home all night. I'm tired of eating heat up stuff too. Let's go out to eat again." she said, liking that idea.
She looked at her watch. It was nearly six o'clock, her shift was almost over. She couldn't wait since she was starving now.
"Whatever." Drago snorted, still upset. Just then, Jade's cel phone rang and she answered it. It was Jackie! Jade was glad to hear from him since he was out of state a month before and couldn't call much.
He had just come back today from doing his favorite job of archeology. He had discovered a rare archeological find in Arizona and was excited about it. Tohru had cooked a big feast as a celebration to welcome Jackie home and for his great find.
"It'll be a nice party, Jade. I hope you can come. I want to show you this artifact, it's really amazing. Uncle thinks it's magic even." Jackie said happily and proudly. Jade got a new idea then.
"Sure I can come! Can I bring a friend too?" she said with a smile. Drago knew she meant him since she had glanced at him when she said 'friend'. He immediately began to wave his hands at her, trying to tell her that he wasn't agreeing to this. But it was too late.
"Yes, of course. The party will start at six thirty at Uncle's place. Can't wait to see you again. Bye, Jade." Jackie hung up then.
Jade closed her cel phone and Drago glared at her. She glared back at him. "What?" she asked annoyed. He growled as his real self even while in human disguise.
"Are you nuts? If I go to your Uncle's shop, he'll know who I am and attack me with his crazy chi spells. You know, good ones. That burn... And hurt a lot?" he growled. Jade waved her hand at him as if he was worrying too much.
"Don't be silly. He won't know if you stay looking like Drake. Uncle won't know anything. I sure didn't before and I'm more aware than he is. I'm sharper and younger with fresher senses and you still fooled me. Unc won't know either. Don't worry."
Drago growled again, but more to himself. "I hope you're right. I can't guarantee I'll...behave if he tries anything on me." Jade gave him a strong serious look.
"I'll be there to stop you if you get out of hand." Then she softened her gaze. "Now come on. Stop being a worry wart. I want to tell them how we're engaged now."
The teen gave another snarl of disgust, but went with her to Uncle's shop after they stopped at her place first to freshen up and change their clothes.
Jackie hugged Jade happily when she got there and then she let Drago disguised as Drake in. Uncle, Jackie, and Tohru hung back near the table exchanging distrustful worried looks as Drago entered.
They all sat down at the table. Drago helped Jade into her seat, acting like a sweet gentleman. Jade thanked him graciously, then he seated himself next to her. Uncle was sitting across from Drago and was giving him suspicious glances every so often.
Tohru noticed Uncle's irritable touchy behavior because of Drago and hastily went to get the food. Perhaps Uncle could sense that Drake was really Drago like how Jim had told him.
Jade offered to help Tohru and got up from her seat quickly. While they were in the kitchen, Jackie started talking about his rare find and had it sitting on the table with them.
"I found this ancient statue in Arizona. Uncle says it could be magic. What do you think, Drake?" Jackie said, testing him. Surely someone like Drago would know if a relic of the Immortals was magic or not. Especially good magic.
Drago sensed the good chi coming off the angel shaped statue. He dared not touch it. If he showed any pain while coming into contact with it, then these nosy humans might suspect the truth about him.
"Yes, it's magic." Drago said simply, not liking this. This all seemed like a trap to him...
"You think it's magic too? Just by looking at it?" Jackie did not sound convinced. "You should see and feel the ancient carvings on it." he said, taking the statue in his hands and held it out to Drake. Uncle saw how the teen hesitated to touch the relic and became more suspicious. He spoke up then.
"Why don't you pick it up?" Uncle said in a strange low tone that sounded like he knew something. Drago sipped some apple juice from a crystal glass set before him, anticipating that something bad could happen to him at any time.
"I can see the markings just fine, thank you. I don't need to hold it to see the words." Drago said, struggling with the fury growing inside him. How dare these humans trap him like this!
"Maybe...you don't want to hold it because you might get...burned?" Uncle asked quietly and solemnly. Drago avoided the old man's prying eyes.
"Go ahead and handle it...Drake." Jackie said, still holding it out. Drago frowned disgustedly. He irritably, but shakily reached out for it. Before he could take it into his hand, Jade and Tohru came back with many servings of food.
Drago breathed a silent sigh of relief. He escaped that one, but he was pretty angry now. They were purposely testing him to see if he was a demon, which he was halfway. How could they suspect anything ahead of time anyway? He never gave them any hints or clues whatsoever.
Then he realized Jim most likely had told them. He couldn't WAIT to strangle that human! Jade helped Tohru serve the food and they all sat down to eat.
"Let us say our thanks to God." Jackie said then. Drago felt as if he was kicked in the stomach. They surely knew the truth about him! Jade was confused at what Jackie said, but wanted him not to pray fearing it would disturb Drago.
"Jackie, we don't say grace before we eat. We just eat." she said. Uncle shook his head. "No, we say grace now because we are trying out different religious customs. A change like this will do you good."
Tohru said nothing and sat down, putting his hands together. Jade ignored what Uncle had said and tried to eat, but Uncle whacked her with his two fingers.
"Show respect for other customs! Close your eyes! Now, let us pray." Uncle said, watching Drake carefully. Drago bit his lip and clenched his fists. One hand was at his side and the other was on the table top. Jackie couldn't believe someone's knuckles could get that white so fast.
Uncle began to pray, opening his eyes every so often to check on Drake. He clearly could see signs of great discomfort in him. He especially watched closely to his reaction when he ended the prayer.
"And we pray in Jesus' name, Amen."
Drago let out a strange sharp sound of detestation and everyone could see he had bitten his lower lip so much that it was cut all the way through to the bone.
Jade was horrified, but tried to cover up her worries by helping him clean the blood dripping down to his chin. He gasped for air as if he had a bad stomachache.
Tohru went off to get some antiseptic and stomach medicine. Jackie and Uncle both noticed the cuts in Drake's palms where his nails dug into his flesh. The two men shared another secret-sharing look. Drake had to be Drago!
"So strange..." Uncle said, giving the teen the evil eye. Drago fought with himself not to tear the old man to pieces. He glared back.
"What's so strange?" he asked in restrained furious tone. Uncle went around the table to get the angel statue. He held it out as if it was a weapon.
"That you do not want to touch this. Go on. Uncle needs help deciphering the writings on it. Jade says you are very smart. So tell Uncle what you see on statue. What do the markings mean?"
Angrily, Drago took the statue. Even though it instantly began to burn and melt his skin away, he held it stubbornly. The meaning of the markings tore at his demon side, like a sword cutting deep into his stomach. This was a weapon for the Immortals!
After reading those sacred words and unable to take the burning any longer, he cried out in hideous pain. He hatefully threw the relic at the wall, creating a small hole. The relic fell to the floor with a thud, but didn't break. Jackie rushed to get his artifact as Uncle pointed his finger at Drake, shouting.
"Ah-ha! It's true! True!" he yelled, pointing his finger at Drago. Uncle believed ancient spells weren't helping him as well as he thought they could and tried other avenues of spiritual help to battle demons.
"What's true? What are you talking about?" Drago asked annoyed. He was really fed-up now.
"You know what!" Uncle said in a low serious tone and hmph'ed. He rushed off to get a Holy Bible he recently got when Tohru told him what Jim had said. Drago gave Jade a disgusted look of 'I-told-you-so!'. Jade didn't know what to do now.
"Yes, you definitely do...Drago!" Jackie said angrily, holding his relic protectively.
Tohru came back to find everyone yelling and screaming. He heard what Jackie had said and was horrified. "Oh no! It is true, isn't it? Oh Jade, how could you want to be with him? Why?"
"Because I love him, that's how and why!" Jade cried out in strong emotion as upset tears welled up in her eyes. Uncle was back with the Bible and a bottle of Holy Water.
He meanly threw the Holy Water at Drake and the teen flew out of his chair, screaming and hissing like his true self. Jade was disturbed to hear him shriek so demonically.
It was scary and she didn't scare easily. His reactions to goodness proved that he was indeed Drago hiding in human skins.
"You love an evil demon!?" Uncle cried, pointing at the teen. "How can you love an evil demon!?" Jade cringed at the sound of his loud angry voice.
"He's NOT evil! He's NOT!" she cried, trying to justify her love for him. But was it really possible? In his human form, Drago was weaker and couldn't keep on hiding his real self. He reverted and let his green scales show.
"Ai-yah! Evil! Evil!!!" Uncle shrieked and opened the Bible to read the Lord's Prayer. Drago felt a terrible explosive rage go through him and he rushed at Uncle, knocking the sacred book from his hands.
"SHUT UP! SHUT UP! I HATE HEARING THOSE WORDS! D-MN YOU!" Drago roared, shaking with unexplainable powerful hatred. He breathed fire upon the Bible a few feet away, but it didn't burn up.
Surprised at first, then more angry, Drago grit his teeth hatefully. Jade was deathly afraid of what he might do next. She started to think she was stupid for believing she could control him and make him behave somehow by being close to him. Maybe Captain Black was right, Drago couldn't be tamed.
"Jade, I TOLD you not to get mixed up with these demons again! First Hsi Wu and now this monster? Why don't you ever listen to Uncle?" Uncle yelled at Jade as he bent down to get the Bible off the floor.
"I'm sorry, Uncle! I tried! I really tried!" Jade said, holding back her tears. Drago growled viciously, spooking everyone.
"Don't you dare recite anything from that- that book!" Drago snarled, raising both of his claws as flames flowed from them. "I'll kill you in an instant!"
Jade grabbed his left arm and pulled it down. "Stop it, Drago! Uncle, quit it! Everyone just calm down!" Jade cried. Uncle glared, holding the Bible in his arms as he stood back up.
"How can Uncle calm down when you brought another demon into my house?!" Uncle cried, pointing his finger again. Drago took a threatening step towards Uncle.
"You started this sh-t as soon as I got here! I didn't attack you, you attacked me!" Drago yelled, growling continuously. Tohru shook his head, feeling really guilty as if he caused this somehow by telling them what he found out from Jim.
"I should have never told you guys what I've heard. But...I wanted to find out if it was true... And I'm sad to know that it is." Tohru said, still shaking his head. Jackie stood in front of him then.
"No, Tohru. This time ignorance is not bliss. We had to know." he said to the large man. Then he looked to his niece. "Jade, why didn't you ever tell us that Drake was really Drago all along? I mean, you usually don't keep secrets like this from us. We are your family."
"Not anymore she isn't!" Uncle cried suddenly then. Everyone, except Drago, was shocked. "But Uncle!" Jackie tried to say. "You can't mean that sensei!" Tohru began.
"Oh no? She disobeys us over and over! She especially disrespects her Uncle by NOT staying away from these demons! Uncle warned her to avoid ALL demons, but now look at her! She is marked again, I just know it!" He looked at her to see if she would dispute his claim, but she didn't. She looked away in embarrassed shame.
"See?! She doesn't deny it! Uncle is not an unhexing machine! She does not care! She doesn't listen to ANY of us! She proves she wants to be with evil beings! Uncle now says let her! Uncle is FED-UP!" He went up to Jade and practically shouted in her face.
"Disowned! You hear? Diss-own-dah!"
Jade's heavy tears fell down her cheeks then. "Yeah, well... I'm glad! My new family will be with Drago then...!" she said in a stiff hurt voice. "I'm going to marry him and you can't stop me!"
She turned to Drago so she could bury her teary face into his chest. He lowered his claws and snuffed off the flames. He held Jade as she cried miserably into his chest. Uncle, Jackie, and Tohru were taken back by her saying she was going to marry Drago.
"But Jade, you can't!" Tohru said, horrified. "He's evil, Jade! Don't!" Jackie cried, feeling the same as Tohru.
Uncle narrowed his eyes at her. He knew she wasn't under any spells so she meant what she was saying and was willingly being with Drago. She wanted to be lost and evil like the fiery teen. Uncle would no longer put up with her nonsense.
If she wanted to marry the demon monster, then so be it. She had made her choice and so had Uncle.
"Good! Marry the demon, Uncle does not care! Since you are no longer family, you can get out!" Uncle snapped. He pointed at the door to Drago, signaling for him to leave.
Glaring testily at each other, Drago took Jade outside. Jackie and Tohru went to follow, but Uncle stopped them.
"But Uncle! Jade can't marry Drago! He's a dangerous criminal, an evil demon! We can't just let her go like that!" Jackie cried, trying to get at the door. Uncle whacked him with his two fingers.
"Clean wax out of ears! Jade no longer wants to be our family anymore. She said so! She wants to be evil with Drago, so let her! She is lost to us." Uncle said, heartbroken as well, but was hiding it by acting cold-hearted.
"Uncle, she says she loves him. What if that's true?" Jackie asked, worrying if it was really so. Then it would be hard to bring her back. What Uncle was saying now would be correct then.
"Jim thinks she is under a spell by Drago, to make her want him." Tohru said, but Uncle shook his head. "No, I did not sense any continuous spells placed on Jade. She goes to him willingly because she wants to. I told you, she is lost to us!"
"I don't care! I won't let my niece be taken away by a blood-thirsty demon!" Jackie cried and forced his way out of the shop. Uncle threw his arms up in the air.
"Uncle gives up! If nephew wants to chase after lost niece, that's his problem." The old man went to his room then and shut it angrily.
Tohru sadly went to all the food he made and stared at the yummies forlornly. The food he worked so hard on did not seem so important anymore. Was Jade really lost to them for real?
Jackie caught up to Jade and Drago as they were trying to get into her car. Drago offered to drive her home when Jackie showed up. He was helping Jade get into car and stopped when he saw Jackie.
"Back off, Chan." Drago said in a warning tone. Jackie narrowed his eyes and ignored him. He tried to grab Jade's arm then.
"Come on, Jade. Uncle didn't mean what he said. You're not disowned."
Jade looked at him downheartedly. "He meant it, Uncle Jackie... And I meant what I said too. If you guys won't accept Drago, then I can't be part of your family anymore. I'll just make a new one with Drago."
Jackie was disturbed. "Jade! He's a demon! He's evil! We're your real family! Please come back." he said when Drago roughly separated his fiancée from her uncle's hold.
"I said, back off..." Drago repeated, sick and tired of this. "I'm warning you, Chan! Leave us alone!" the fiery teen hissed.
"No, you'll hurt Jade." Jackie said, not trusting him. He reached out to his niece again.
"Ha! Yeah right! Looks more like that old man did. Pretty devastating words, I might add. Also..." Drago paused to knock away Jackie's open hand to Jade.
"I'd never hurt the one I love." Drago said, being dead serious.
"How can a monster truly love anyone?" Jackie asked, his voice showing his distrust.
"He's not a monster, Jackie! I got to know him. I got to see how he really is. You just don't understand!" Jade cried, going over to Jackie and looking him in the eyes.
Maybe if she could convince Jackie, she wouldn't feel so crushed and shattered. Getting Jackie to see what she saw in Drago was the healing treatment she really needed and wanted.
"I'm sorry, Jade. I don't understand. I don't know if I can understand..." Jackie said dejectedly. Drago moved Jade behind him and faced her uncle.
"That's because you're narrow-minded. If it makes you feel any better, I'm only half-demon. The other half is human and for once in my life, I'm acknowledging it. Proof positive that I'm not going to be tearing Jade to shreds. Ok?" Drago said, not hiding the truth about his breed anymore.
Jade was shocked that he willingly said he was half-human. She stared at him in disbelief. Jackie had the same expression upon his face too, but for a different reason.
"You're- you're human, er half? Your mother is human?" Jackie cried, surprised to bits. Drago let out a tired sigh. "Yes, she is. Why don't you meet her? She's sickeningly nice, so you guys can all be buddy-buddy if you want. I'll tell her to stop by sometime."
Jade's uncle just stared at the teen for a few moments, not knowing what to say. Jade came out from behind Drago and hugged Jackie then.
"Jackie, if you give Drago a chance, you'll find out how he really is. He's changing for the better because of me. He's doing it for me. I mean, you haven't heard any new reports about him causing more trouble lately have you?" Jade asked, pulling away and holding onto her uncle's hands.
Jackie had to think about what she was saying. Could it be true? Since he didn't say anything, Jade went on. "No, you haven't. That's because he loves me... And I love him back. Please understand... Please?"
She gave him a desperate look as she let his hands go. She went to Drago and the teen took her into his arms protectively. Then, they looked back at him, their eyes showing Jackie how they felt.
Jackie stared at them both and saw what appeared to be true love shining from their eyes. Only then he noticed their exquisite rings, glistening in the moonlight.
The Chinese man sighed hard, understanding that they did love each other. He could now see it, but still this was bad. There was no way Uncle would accept Drago into their family.
Jackie wasn't sure either way now himself. He didn't want Drago to be in their family, but then again, Jade loved him and it did look like Drago did too. He didn't want Jade to be unhappy. He didn't know what to do for this.
"I understand, but I don't think Uncle ever will. I'm sorry, Jade. I'm not sure how I feel about you and Drago being together like this. I do want you to be happy and if being with Drago makes you happy, then you should be with him. I better go now, you probably want to go home." Jackie said, turning away.
Jade rushed to him, hugging him again and kissing him. "Thank you, Uncle Jackie! I really was counting on your support." she said, then let him go. He nodded at her. "I just want you to be happy, Jade."
Numbly, Jackie left then. Jade watched him go and hoped he could somehow convince Uncle and Tohru of the love she shared with Drago.
