J2: The Deception
As much as Drago's tormented screams were a horrifying thing to hear, another thing that was just as horrifying to hear was the sound of those electrical ice guns firing.
Those dangerous guns were the same ones she made illegal in Section 13. Apparently they weren't illegal for Section 14 agents to use and they did. With fury.
Jade pushed through the crowd of them so she could get to where Drago was at. They were putting him in chains and strapping on a strange kind of fireproof muzzle on his face.
He was in a painful daze, moaning sickly, and convulsing badly. In this state, he couldn't fight back much at all. Some of the agents kicked and punched him while he was down as payback for attacking their friends moments before.
The leading agent even shot Drago again with the electrical ice gun and the teen shrieked in severe pain. He slumped over and shivered pathetically, something Jim would have killed to see in person.
Rage overtook Jade.
"How dare you torture him like this!?" she screamed, pushing and shoving the agents away. The agent that shot Drago did it again like it was justice.
Drago was forced to regurgitate from the pain, the vomit creating a mess under the muzzle strapped to his face. This all made Jade even more angry.
"Stop that! This is cruelty!" Jade yelled, glaring at the agent and yanking the gun from his hands. She threw it across the room in disgust.
"Agent Chan, this monster deserves worse than this! We are actually being kind. If it were up to me, I'd have this beast destroyed immediately." he said, kicking Drago in the gut hatefully before Jade could stop him. The teen faintly growled, but couldn't do much more than that.
"Stop it!" she shouted, getting in front of Drago so they couldn't attack him further. She glared at the leading agent then testily.
"What's your name?" Jade asked, giving the 'evil-eye' to the six foot tall man.
"I am Agent Thomas Tang. I heard my son Jerry Tang died because he was poisoned at work...by this monster!" Agent Tang snapped, clearly upset. His words started an uproar of hatred for Drago's past evil doings.
"Jerry was my good friend and that monster is responsible!" someone in the back yelled. "He shouldn't be allowed to live!" shouted someone else. "He killed my sister! I saw him drag her out of her bedroom window!" cried another. "Kill him! Kill the green monster!" the crowd of agents hollered, all hungry for justice.
Jade pushed the agents away, feeling helpless as she understood their anger. "Please, everyone! Just calm down!" she said. She went down and removed the muzzle from her lover, shocking the angry agents.
"Don't take that off him! He'll burn us all alive!" Tang shouted, as his friends aimed their weapons at Drago again. The wounded others were taken away by Section 13 sick bay assistants so they could tend to their burns and bloody wounds.
"Surely you have seen the severe injuries my men have suffered just now at the hands of that beast! He's dangerous and must be destroyed!" Tang shouted. Jade glowered at him.
"Be quiet! He won't do anything to you guys now, look at him! He can't! I have a right to protect my prisoner, ok? What you are doing is unusual punishment! It's just plain cruelty!!!" she yelled, getting some tissues from the little table again.
She cleaned up Drago's face as he shakily curled up next to her for warmth. He was so warm and well moments before, but now he was icy cold and shivering, damaged all over again.
Moments went by without anyone saying a word. Tang found it disgusting how Section 13's boss was so fond of a horrible evil monster. He wondered about her.
This wasn't protecting a prisoner, it looked like they were accursed lovers or something sick like that. Tang grit his teeth in anger as he waited for his boss to come.
Finally, Captain Black arrived and the agents let him through into the room. He was not happy at what he saw. Not at all.
"What happened here?!" he demanded angrily. He just knew he shouldn't have let Jade handle Drago on her own. Look at what he did to his agents! Tang saluted as he presented himself and explained.
"Sir! We came to save Agent Chan from the monster Drago when he was trying to harm her. We burst in here and we were forced to fire when the monster attacked. We have since taken control of the situation. The prisoner is ready to be transported, sir!"
Jade jumped to her feet and almost shoved Tang out of the way so she could get Captain Black's attention. The man was appalled how rude and unprofessional Section 13's boss was behaving.
"Captain Black, Agent Tang is lying! Drago was NOT trying to harm me at all! They rushed in here without just cause and spooked Drago into attacking them! They cruelly kept on shooting him with these illegal weapons when Drago was down and unable to defend himself. If that isn't cruelty, I don't know what is!" Jade cried, extremely po'ed.
Tang scoffed, causing her to look at him angrily.
"You act as if that monster is on level with humans and should be treated fairly. He is not a human being, he's worse than an animal! He has to be destroyed!" Tang argued.
"How dare you say that! Everything with life should be treated fairly! You have no right to hurt him like this!" Jade screamed, her fists and teeth clenched. Captain Black put his hands up to silence them before Jade began a fist fight.
"Hold it! I'm sorry, Agent Tang. But Jade is right. I never gave you permission to use deadly force to prepare Drago. One more slip up like this and I'll suspend you." Tang gave Black an upset disgusted look of 'how-dare-you!' and a 'I-was-only-doing-my-job!' look.
"I expected the prisoner to be in good health for trial. I was extremely lucky to set a court date for today, but now I can't bring Drago to it since he's in such bad shape." Black said as Drago coughed pitifully on the floor, still convulsing and shivering.
Black looked to Agent Tang with a displeased look. "You will be reprimanded for this incident, Tang." The tall man glared back, growing ever so more hateful. Why was his boss sticking up for his son's murderer? WHY!?
Captain Black shook his head and called for Missy to come and help Drago. He made Tang and his men leave the room, but made them hang around just out of sight in case Drago tried anything later on.
Jade helped Drago back into bed when Missy came in. She was VERY hesitant to aid the green beast of San Fran.
"Uh, is it necessary for me to...-gulp-... nurse this uh, patient back to health? He's dangerous and I don't think I want to be near him." Missy said in a low voice to Captain Black. She was deathly afraid.
"Yes it is necessary for your staff to bring Drago back to health. Go tell them now." Black told her and she left to alert her staff.
"Ugh, now I have to go talk to the judge to set another court date. This won't be easy." Black said, shaking his head. He had a hard enough time trying to get Judge Rudy to take this case and now he had to reschedule. That was going to delay things for sure now.
"D-don't even try...t-to s-set another court d-date!" Drago choked out, who was still very VERY angry. When he felt better again, boy was he ever going to make those Section 14 agents PAY!
Black hurried over to where Drago laid on the sick bed. "Drago, I'm going to be fair about this. Tell me. What happened before Agent Tang came and what happened afterwards. You helped save us at the bank yesterday, so I'm going to listen to your side."
"W-what a-are you t-talking about...? I wasn't a-at any s-stinking bank..." Drago tried to lie, but Jade shook her head with her hand on his arm.
"It's ok, Drago. Captain Black knows. He figured it out." she said. He gave her an annoyed look.
"Y-you just HAD to go to that stupid b-bank then, didn't y-you?" he said in a low gruff tone, growling.
"Drago, Captain Black is trustworthy. Don't worry." Jade said, rubbing his arm to soothe him. He sighed hard, giving up.
Oh well, it wasn't like Black could really do much with that secret anyway. It would only make Black look nuts if he ran off his mouth about it since Drago and Drake didn't look anything like each other.
"F-fine... I-I just need h-heat f-first... S-so c-cold..." Drago hissed and clutched the thin hospital blankets to his chin, shaking hard. Captain Black looked confused.
"Why not just make fire with your uh, claws?" he asked, wondering if this was some new trick from him. Before Drago could tell him how stupid he was, Jade explained that he couldn't.
So Captain Black ordered Missy back into the room to get her to bring as many heating blankets and pads as she could find immediately.
Right when Missy tried to leave to do as she was told, Drago experienced horrific pain suddenly. He arched his back and dug his claws into the mattress as the lightning pain shot throughout his body in repetitive waves, causing him to growl in hideous pain.
Missy were terrified hearing him growl and howl like some demonic beast from Hell. Mixed in with the frightening chorus of inhuman screams was a tormented cry of a man.
It freaked her out badly. She backed up against the wall in fright, about to scream herself. She quickly slid her way over to the door and fumbled with the door knob to open it.
Then she was gone. Jade was glad since she could freely express her love for her fiancé without suspicion and confusion.
Although she was fairly disturbed to hear her lover sound so evil and inhuman, she knew why. He was in rotten agony and she wanted to make him well again.
"It'll be alright, Drago." Jade cooed to him, but he wasn't in the mood for it. He growled angrily, snarling like a jungle cat and clawing up the mattress.
"D-mn y-you humans! A-always...tr-trying to kill me!" he hissed under his breath incomprehensibly that they didn't really understand him. Jade wasn't sure if she wanted to, it wasn't anything positive that was for certain!
"Look, I w-wasn't doing anything wrong and th-then they attacked me! I had to d-defend myself, but they w-were out to kill me! And you sent them, Black! Th-thankss a lot!" he growled, shivering worse than a wet cold puppy.
Black frowned at him. How did this criminal really think? He didn't know how to handle him safely. At first he thought maybe, just maybe, Jade could do that, but it seemed that she had some trouble keeping him in control.
Drago wasn't your average bad guy afterall. There wasn't really anyone to compare him to, well not anyone who was human at least.
"That's not true, Drago. I never told my men to harm you like that. They were only to prepare you for transport." Black said. Drago laughed bitterly and was about to reply when Missy came back.
She entered carrying two heating blankets and some heating pads. She practically shoved them into Jade's arms and took off in a rush, slamming the door shut behind her.
While Jade was plugging in the blanket and the pads for him, Drago continued his conversation with Black.
"Come on, Black. You w-want me dead, don't f-ck with me... A-and where were y-you going to t-transport me to?" Drago asked, not expecting an answer. It wasn't like Black really could cage him anyway.
"H-ll, I know where y-you want to p-put me... I-in a gas c-chamber..." Drago grumbled on, bitterly.
Captain Black gave Jade a worried look and she sighed. This was going to be a long day. She didn't know why Captain Black was still hanging around, other than to take Drago away. But how could he do that safely? And would she be ok with it? No, she wasn't.
She also severely doubted Captain Black would be able to convince Drago to just go along with being entered in the system to be prosecuted. She sure failed in that department and Drago favored her.
But then again, Black was good at negotiating... Maybe he could work something out?
"I'm telling you right now...I won't give up my freedom..." Drago growled in a low touchy voice since no one was answering him back so he spoke his mind a little. Black thought of something then.
"Ok, I can understand that." Black began, but Drago scoffed at him.
"Oh, you can? Wow, all my fondest dreams have come true at last!" Drago said sarcastically, then added with hostility, "You sh-tty f-cker."
Black decided to ignore that.
"Anyway, I'm assuming that if I order my men to incarcerate you, you will lash out with deadly force, right?" Black asked, thinking up a plan that might get Drago to help them flush out Marlone from hiding fast.
Drago gave him a disgusted, insolent look. "Well, duh! Give the man a prize! The best f-cking idiot of the world!" he replied, nastily.
He knew Black was stupid, but that stupid? Surely he would know by now that he would shred anyone who tried to cage him. Jade held her forehead feeling so embarrassed. Why couldn't he be more polite for once??
Black decided to ignore that one too and nodded stiffly, trying not to let his anger overtake him. Darn that overgrown gecko!
"Well, how about this deal? In exchange for not killing anyone while you're being taken to trial, I can help you not get the death sentence." Black offered.
Drago stubbornly didn't reply since he didn't even trust himself to not kill those stupid agents. He didn't have much control over his rage at times.
"Well?" Black asked, getting annoyed by his silence. Why did he ever think he could negotiate with a murderous beast?
"I'm thinking it over, ok?" the fiery teen snapped back. He growled disgustedly then. "Ugh..! Well...I can't guarantee anything if that f-cking idiot Agent Tang comes after me again with those d-mn electric ice guns..."
Black nodded, trying to be cooperative. He could see now it was the only way to work with this guy, since it was easy to tell Drago was the type who just had to have his way or else.
If he kept him on good to neutral terms, he might be able to work out a favorable deal for them both. At least, Black hoped he could.
"I understand. Jade and I'll transport you personally. No Agent Tang or any other agents, as long as you don't act up or try anything suspicious." Black said, watching the teen carefully.
Drago pressed his clawed digits to his forehead. If he refused, Black would probably call in his idiotic Section 14 agents and they definitely would use those stupid painful guns on him once more.
He didn't feel like going through that twice in one day. He wouldn't be able to take down enough agents before they shot him unconscious all over again. And in this small room, Jade could get hurt.
He was stuck being at their mercy for the moment...
"Rrrr-ahhh...! Fine. But I won't be staying in any prisons whatsoever, got that? I MUST keep my freedom, otherwise you're gonna have one h-ll of a time trying to stop me from killing..." Drago warned, looking directly at Black with a defiant cold stare.
"I'll have to pull a lot of strings, but if you can successfully catch Marlone and bring him back- Alive..." he added quickly, then continued. "- then I can see about getting you to serve your sentence, whatever it may be, as community service by continuing your job here without pay. That's the only way I can erase any prison time for you."
Drago held his horned chin, thinking it over. That sounded alright, since it was what he was going to do anyway. Not being paid for his work in exchange for keeping his freedom was annoying, but worth it. Jade put her arms around his backside, her right hand resting on his shoulder, comforting him.
"As long as I can stay with Jade without being spied on or anything like that, I'll go along with this." he said, putting his clawed hand on Jade's right hand and giving her a fond look. She smiled back at him lovingly.
Black noticed this and had to smile himself. Maybe it was a good thing that the green fiery teen fell for Jade. She was the only leash-hold they had on him now.
He first trusted that Jade could maybe control the fire demon kid, but then he attacked his agents today. Black felt so dumb for leaving Jade with the monster at that point. How could he have trusted that she would be able to control him?
But now he had the full story and he figured out how Drago worked. Jade could control the fiery teen up to a point. It seemed that whenever his freedom was threatened, he would lash out viciously to protect it.
Black had seen an almost immediate halt on Drago's criminal activities since Jade had befriended him and he knew how much Jade loved him. It looked like Drago loved her back too due to the lack of reports of his latest activities.
Even if Jade wasn't reporting him, other agents could find out, but so far, there was nothing from the fiery teen. So he must have stopped all together for Jade.
Black just wished they hadn't tricked him into thinking Drake wasn't Drago. Oh well, it was understandable why they did. They wanted to stay together. Badly.
"Deal. So, do you think you feel well enough to go to trial today? It's in an hour from now." Black said, his hand on his pistol just in case. He trusted Jade to vaguely control Drago, he just didn't trust Drago all that much still. He was banking everything on Jade's love keeping the fiery teen in line.
"Yeah, I can go. Just give me a few minutes." Drago grumbled, instantly irritable. Black took his hand off his gun and picked up a package of clothes he had first brought in back when he discovered Agent Tang shooting the teen to the floor.
"Good. Put these on and I'll be back in five minutes." he said, tossing the package on the bed. Black went to the door and turned to look back at them, particularly at Jade.
"Agent Chan, I trust you to keep things under control while we transport Drago to the courthouse. I'm holding you solely responsible for him before and after sentencing."
Jade saluted him happily. Captain Black was actually going to allow her to keep Drago afterall! This was just too wonderful! No way was she going to allow him to slip up and go back to his evil ways again.
"Yes, sir!" she said and Black left with a smile. Jade sighed in bliss. Drago crankily ripped the package open and put the clothes on disgustedly.
"I hate orange..." he snarled, fixing his collar. Jade went up to him and straightened it out better for him. Then she threw her arms around him, very thankful that he was actually going along with this afterall.
But it was only because he would get to keep his freedom. Jade didn't care though. She wanted him to keep his freedom too so she could keep him.
"Mm, I love you, Drago..." she said softly with her cheek pressed against his chest. One claw on her head and his arm encircling her, he held her close.
"I love you too." he replied in a similar gentle tone. Jade pulled away just enough so she could kiss him affectionately. He returned the kiss lovingly, then ended it with sulky eyes.
"Ugh, I can't believe I'm actually agreeing to this sh-t..." he groaned, shaking his head. "I've gone so soft I'm applesauce." Jade giggled at him, pushing him away playfully.
"No, you're not! You're doing the right thing, that's all. Now, come on. The sooner we go, the sooner it's over." she said, heading to the door.
"Yeah, yeah..." Drago mumbled, following her to the door. They waited for Captain Black to come back and he did after a minute. He opened the door and saw them, nodding.
"Let's go."
They headed out into the hallway then to the open spaces of Section 13, where it was easy to see who was walking where. Agent Tang was talking to Jim, who was in much better health at this time.
They were comparing hatred notes about Drago. Tang explained how the prisoner was going to be transported soon and said he rather not be involved since he couldn't stand to be near that monstrous beast.
Jim was completely supportive of Tang's malice towards Drago and wished he had been there when Tang was shooting him senseless with those so-called 'illegal' guns.
But he didn't say they were illegal for him to use. He did ask to borrow some for his squad and Tang agreed to let him have as many as he needed, believing no one was safe against the fiery green beast without those guns.
Tang was first to notice Captain Black and Jade leading Drago to an elevator several yards away and so did Jim. They both saw that Drago had no handcuffs nor shackles around his legs. Tang was disgusted when he saw that, but trusted that Captain Black knew what he was doing.
On the other hand, Jim was in an awful rage seeing Drago being treated almost like he was a V.I.P. even though he was a dangerous horrible murderer. This was injustice!
He saw how Jade was almost cuddling close next to Drago as they walked pretty much side by side. Jim was more than fed up when he saw them like that.
When Jade helped Jim to the infirmaries a week before after Drago attacked him again, he was given a false sense of security and love from her. She acted as if she cared about him, but really it truly was a lie. It had to be!
Even enjoying Jade while inside Drago's body did nothing, but bring those two closer together. Jim had vaguely hoped they wouldn't feel comfortable being around each other anymore after that weird episode, but they seemed to be even more chummy than before! No!
He rushed down to them before they got to the elevator. He practically stopped them in their tracks by standing in front of them with his hands on his hips.
"Why isn't the prisoner shackled properly?" he asked through tightly clenched teeth. Black sighed like he had a really bad headache.
"Don't worry, Agent Kulen. Everything is under control." he said, beginning to worry if Jim would fight with the fiery teen. He already knew how much Jim hated Drago. Love triangles, ugh! He couldn't deal with this now.
Drago had to hold back a laugh seeing how viciously aggravated Jim looked. This put him into a playful, bully-like mood.
"Aww, is widdle baby Jimmy upset? Why don't you cuff me yourself? Or are you too helpless to?" Drago teased, grinning and lashing his tail happily.
Jim let out a choked scream of rage and lunged at the teen. Drago easily deflected his charge tossing him aside, the force causing Jim to fall to the floor in an embarrassed furious heap.
"That's enough!" Black shouted, but Jim ignored him and jumped up from the floor. He ran at the teen again, punching and kicking. The scaly teen blocked his attacks the best he could, but some blows got through, causing him new pain.
"You ugly d-mn monster!!!" Jim roared, anger fueling his strength. Drago was annoyed to find out that this weakling's hits were actually hurting him. But he wasn't going to give Black a reason to revoke his freedom by cracking Jim's skull open.
"Kulen, stop this right now!" Captain Black ordered, grabbing and pulling Jim away. He struggled against his higher boss, hurling obscenities.
"Let me go! D-mn it, let me go! I have to kill that monster! He has to die!" Jim yelled, desperately trying to break free. Jade was just as upset over all this as well.
Here was Jim interfering with this delicate procedure to move Drago to the courthouse quietly and Jim ruined it, well Drago helped too. Boy was she going to reprimand him! Every agent in earshot was watching them now and the heckling started, close and far.
"Yeah, down with the green beast! Get 'im Jimbo!" shouted someone from an upper level, looking down.
"He killed my friend Hank! Don't let him walk around free!" cried someone else in the growing crowd nearby.
"Why isn't he tied up? He could kill us all any moment! I'm getting outta here!"
"I heard from Agent Kulen that Agent Chan is in love with that monster...it's sick!" someone whispered to another.
"A monster like that doesn't deserve to live...!" yelled someone in the crowd, throwing an empty soda can.
And on and on the justified jeering went.
"Captain Black, do you need our services?" Agent Tang asked, pretending to be ready to follow orders when in fact he was hoping to backup Jim in destroying Drago.
"Detain Kulen until he calms down." Black said, handing him over. Tang vaguely held Jim somewhat, acting as if he was holding onto him, but was really slipping a smaller hand-sized electrical ice gun. He believed Jim deserved to protect himself.
"Alright, listen up people! Get back to your duties right now or you will be all suspended without pay!" Captain Black shouted, waving his hands to clear out the watching agents. Most of them went back to work and some order was restored.
"D-mn, if you humans are going to make such a fuss over me being loose like this, then go ahead and tie me up. Maybe it'll ease widdle baby Jimmy over there a bit." Drago jeered, looking directly at Jim.
"Drago..." Jade said in a warning tone. But it was too late.
In that instant, Jim made use of the miniaturized, yet more powerful version of the electrical ice gun. Drago screamed in pain as he was rammed backwards into the metallic wall with a bang.
Jim kept walking forward, ready to shoot again with a crazy grin on his face. Jade saw this and had to act. She raced forward and kicked the weapon out of Jim's hand, hitting his wrist hard enough to fracture it.
He cried out and held his wrist, then gave Jade the meanest, scariest look. An expression she never would have thought to come from Jim...directed at her.
"Agent Tang, remove Kulen from here immediately!" Captain Black ordered, pointing. The bald man picked up the fallen gun from the floor and put it in his pocket.
"No one is to fire upon the prisoner without direct order, understand? The next one who does will be permanently suspended!" Black said, hoping that Drago wouldn't attack anyone over this. Keeping him docile was extremely important for keeping everyone else safe.
Jade was helping Drago up to his feet again, but surprisingly the teen kept his claws from ripping out ribcages. His viciously angered look for Jim melted away to a cool sly look that seemed to say 'I-still-have-Jade-and-you-know-it-freak!'.
In Jim's haste to shoot the teen, he had forgotten to activate the microscopic ice water crystals in the electric ray, which was what slowed down Drago's recovering times. A short shock wouldn't take him down for too long.
Tang was forced to take Jim away, but he would never forget that look of victory on Drago's face... He grit his teeth so hard together that he heard them crackling.
How he HATED that ugly green beast! He would kill him one way or another! He swore to it...
