J2: The Deception
Jade found herself someplace she never wanted to visit again. The floating crumbling rocks, blood red dark skies, and horrid stench were enough to let her know where she was.
Before she could figure out how she got to Hell or how to leave, her ears were blasted with a boisterous animalistic roar. The sound was deafening and Jade had to cover her ears hard as she crouched down in instant fright.
She wasn't sure why she felt so scared all of a sudden, but she was. A powerful menacing force loomed over her then and she peeked a look. What she saw made her question if she was really seeing what her eyes were telling her.
An enormous creature was bent over her, his wings cupped around her almost in a protective manner. Tentacles whipped around his chin as his red glowing eyes glared down at her hungrily.
Was this...Drago? She recognized his chi, but she wasn't sure since she couldn't think clearly now. She sank down on her backside and squeezed her eyes shut, breathing heavily in grave fear.
The demonic being brought his face close to hers, a deep constant growling was heard. Jade forced herself to look again and saw Drago as he always looked. What did this mean?
"Jade... I need to tell you something..." he said softly, his face close to hers still. She swallowed hard, trying to do away with her icy fear.
She hated this feeling of terror caused by Drago. This same horror made her remember all their bad times together and how helpless she truly was against him.
"W-what is it?" she asked, allowing him to pick her off the ground and hold her in his arms. There was something different about him.
But when she tried to think of what it was, her mind turned to confused mush. It was like she wasn't able to think of what was different about him... Why?
Adult Drago sensed that Jade was currently at the time where she and he were stuck on that accursed Serpentans island. He remembered the hard time they had trying to find the Immortal relic while the Serpentans were out to kill Jade. The sooner he got those relics in the past, the better for him now.
"On the Serpentans' isle there is a flute hidden in the beach, close to the water... If you can get the flute to me, then we both can escape peril." he said, setting her down on her feet. She looked at him, unsure. She created some space between them.
"Huh? How can a flute help us? Am I dreaming or is this for real?" she wondered, becoming more dazed and bewildered. He snatched her back into his arms and kissed her voraciously.
Right away, Jade didn't like what he was doing. The way he pulled her tongue into his mouth and started chewing on it made her push against him. She didn't like this, not at all!
His strength held her in place as his claws groped her wildly. He pinched and grabbed her all over like he hadn't touched her in years. He nipped her neck a few times before he bit into her like she was a tasty apple.
She found that weird that a dream was this...strangely real and painful. She kept resisting against his vicious advances until she was free of him.
"Stop it, Drago! You were hurting me!" she cried, upset by his brutish handling. She couldn't believe that he was actually biting her like that... And many times too!
She wiped her hand over her neck, expecting to see blood. She was sure her skin had been broken through by his fangs. Yet still, her hand was clean. Strange...
"Oh, was I? I'm so sorry..." he purred weirdly... and evilly. She really REALLY didn't like the way he licked his lips then. He was acting like how he did back at the Castle Wall. He was extremely dangerous and unpredictable then.
She began to back away, but stopped when she reached the edge of the floating rock they were on.
"Yeah, well, knock it off." she said, trying to cover up her fright. Why was he acting like he used to be back when she first knew him? What kind of stupid dream...nightmare was this?!
"Let me make it up to you, Jade..." he said softly, then grabbed her hard like she was his prey. She struggled a bit, not trusting him anymore. But then she felt his claws gently stroking her kindly, so she calmed down.
"Just keep heading East to the beach and you'll find the flute... It's close to the water's edge. Get it to me... Then everything will be fine..." he whispered in her hair, his caressing sweet and lovingly suddenly. "Don't forget, I'm counting on you..."
Just then Jade felt like she was being released from something, which was a spell, but she mistook it that she was waking up instead. Drago faded from her mind's eye and she slowly woke up.
Adult Drago grit his teeth. He was forced to break that spell he had on Jade to enter into her dreams when his father appeared behind him.
"What are you doing, boy?" Shendu hissed, wondering what his son was up to lately. For the last few years, Drago was hiding a lot from his father and the others. He made sure he was alone often and that wasn't like him.
Shendu knew his son and he knew how much he enjoyed watching his family members give vicious beatings to the lost human souls trapped here.
He and Drago fought so much that it came to the point where it became more like 'playful' sparring instead. Shendu had to admit that his son was a great warrior, malicious and savage.
The Fire demon was almost, extremely vaguely liking his son now. But it was not a favoring humans could ever hope to comprehend.
Such knowledge and understanding was on a totally higher level. Such 'liking' by a demon would be best described as tolerating someone on a less miserable hateful scale.
He still pretty much hated his son though, it was his fault he was trapped in Hell again. Stupid, stupid boy! And he was still acting regrettably human. How revolting!
"Leave me alone." Drago growled back at his father, covering his body with his wings so he was hidden somewhat. It helped him block himself out from everything in Hell, which was currently great boredom and always everlasting torment.
"Don't take that tone with me, boy..." Shendu snarled dangerously. "I've had enough of you running off alone. You are up to something and I demand to know what it is!"
Drago ignored his evil parent, wishing he would just go so he could try and enter Jade's dream again, IF she was still sleeping. Shendu grabbed his son by the shoulder and whipped him around, prying his wings open.
"Answer me, loathsome brat!" Shendu roared, his right claw now clutching Drago's thick throat. "No tricks! Tell me what you have been doing all these months alone! NOW!"
Drago fiercely punched his father away hatefully in great disgust. "Why should I tell you? D-mn it, Dad, just stay the h-ll away from me!" he shouted, feeling his chance to escape this place slipping away.
If he could just get Jade to say the right incantations while he was in her dreams, he could use her to get back to Earth and back to his original timeline. That was what he wanted more than anything now. To escape and get his revenge.
Shendu got a sudden idea to just spy on his son until he discovered what he was doing all alone constantly. He folded his massive muscular arms and frowned.
"After I gave you life, you treat me with such disrespect! D-mn you, child! D-mn you and your hideous human mother...!" the Fire demon cursed, then flew off.
Drago growled viciously at his parent. "You gave me nothing, but a miserable existence..." he grumbled, then slowly went back to a trance. Maybe it wasn't too late to enter Jade's dream again.
He had to be careful while in this trance-like state. All the demons here were all out for his withering living human soul, it was a full soul despite him only being half human. The other demons hungered for it since stealing souls raised their ranks.
Even his own father craved for it, but he restrained himself since he enjoyed torturing his son by keeping him around instead. Like a cat playing with a mouse, he liked knowing his son always had to be on the look out to protect his soul.
Tormenting a human, even half of one Shendu himself created, was something the Fire demon loved to do. Causing intense and constant turmoil to anyone human was always Shendu and his kin's cup of chi.
A living human soul in Hell was a glowing diamond in a sea of black tar. Drago knew the others were hunting him all the time, waiting for him to let his guard down so they could strike and kill him. They would jump at the chance to take his precious soul away forever.
Drago would never let ANY of them steal his soul, it was his to keep. He didn't plan on dying anytime soon, especially not after being infused with the immortality talisman somewhat.
His father told him countless times that he would die eventually, but Drago was determined to never let that happen. He knew Shendu wasn't lying about this fact, he could sense that loathsome decay lurking in his bones and body. He tried not to worry about that so much anyway.
Drago was able to make a name for himself though here. When some rogue demons tried to take his soul for the first months he was in Hell, he lashed out so viciously that the others watching bitterly came to knowing he was demon enough to vaguely 'respect'.
Drago disliked how the others called him a human that was trying to be a demon. He WAS part demon, there was no 'trying' about it. How could they look down upon his father's impressive rank?
Shendu was one of the elite and was one of the Master's best generals. He could be evil enough, maybe even strong enough to be the Master too.
Drago had said this out loud during a meeting, one which Shendu didn't attend since he often got beaten up for speaking at all. They were still sore at him for being free more than they ever got to be and how he failed to release them as well.
Once Drago could make himself heard, he tried to point out that if Shendu could be a Master, then so could he, because he was his son.
All his uncles and aunts laughed at him. Instantly they retorted, telling him how foolish he was. Tso Lan was the first to speak. When would this boy learn?
"Silly child, you know nothing of our kind. You still think like a human." the Moon demon said belittling his nephew.
"Lucifer is all powerful, you ignorant fool! You dare shame us by speaking such nonsense?" Bai Tsa hissed, her hair tentacles moving around her skull like snakes. "If he heard you speak that way, you'd be dead now! Learn some demon sense in that human mind of yours!"
"Is that even possible?" Tso Lan calmly asked matter-of-factly. Bai Tsa shrugged. "Probably not..." she growled bitterly.
"Surely I hope this information gets out. Then both you and Shendu will get a lovely thrashing." Xiao Fung said, anxious to see a beating anytime anywhere.
"That would be wonderful! Yummy!" Po Kong commented, feasting on some trapped lost souls she gathered over the months. They screamed in torment as she devoured them like cookies.
"Shut up, stupid boy! Your human tongue disgusts me!" Dai Gui rasped, growling. Tchang Zu whacked Drago up along side the head, causing a roaring match between the thunder demon and fire nephilim. Their short screaming fight shook the rocks around them.
"Dumb boy, will you ever shut up? Learn your place! You have no rank amongst us! You are merely here to be tormented, like the rest of us!" his uncle snapped at his nephew, annoyed thoroughly.
"Amen to that." Hsi Wu said, flaring his wings. Bai Tsa gasped. "Hsi Wu! You dare speak like that? Dare you be as shameless as Shendu?"
"Hey, that brat gets to speak all kinds of garbage, so get off my back. D-mn trashy human halfling... Stealing MY slave..." Hsi Wu grumbled under his breath.
Drago narrowed his eyes at his uncle. This was a bone they've been picking on for at least three years straight now. He would never back down to it.
"The way I saw it was that your slave came running to me, Uncle Wu. I didn't even have to steal her. She chose me instead." Drago said testily, ready to use his large size to flatten his tiny winged uncle.
Hsi Wu stroked his beard, his wrinkled gray flesh pulling into a wide grin. "That's because it takes human trash to get attracted to human trash..."
"Ok, that's it! THAT'S F-CKING IT!!!" Drago roared, breathing fire at Hsi Wu instantly. The spry demon flew off, disappearing into the red skies. This meeting was almost over anyway, so he decided to leave early.
"Hsi Wu has a point, Drago. Even after all these years, you are still regrettably human and you'll never be one of us." Bai Tsa said then, swirling around him in flight.
"F-ck my human blood! I am Shendu's son, his blood flows through me! I am a demon and you ALL know it!" Drago hissed, hating how they kept classifying him as only or just a human.
He was part demon whether they accepted it or not. He would MAKE them accept it! At least, he thought he could.
"Still he tries to use human reasoning to 'prove' his case. How appalling." Tso Lan said, shaking his head. He put his four claws up in the air. "I'm through listening to a halfling that speaks so fluently in human. I'm ill enough from it as is."
Bai Tsa nodded. "I, too, am tired of listening to human dribble. If I want to hear idiocy, I can always hear Shendu talk." She began to leave too.
"Yes, let us have a meeting elsewhere without human intervention." Tso Lan said, his black long locks flowing around him in a weightless manner. The other demons agreed.
"You are to no longer attend our meetings, Drago. If you try to show up, we will kill you and take that soul you're so protective of!" Bai Tsa said, her tone deadly and serious. This human halfling had better learn to stay away.
Bai Tsa and the others left quickly, not allowing Drago time to reply. He was struck by their incredible unfairness and their utter biased ways of thinking.
They didn't even give him a chance to prove himself; they wouldn't listen. No matter what he did, they would never really accept him as one of their kind.
Drago's chest was tight with rage, the unfairness of it all tortured him. Even though his human side was weak and nearly dead, it had woven itself throughout his mind and being, so he still expected fairness to come into play.
But the demons did not acknowledge fairness, they called it a ridiculous game that humans made to use as a soap box to climb upon and whine loudly on. That was what demons thought of fairness.
They did not abide to it whatsoever, unless it was in THEIR favor instead. Then it came into play very well, but only for them...
Drago soon found himself growing more distant to his father's kind than ever before. He used to yearn to be one of them, but now that that dream was utterly crushed, he didn't know what he really wanted anymore.
Taking his frustrations out on lost human souls and lowering the ranks of inferior demons helped ease his wrath temporarily. But still, he felt lacking and empty...
He even came to brief moments of suicide, but then his father's kind would win over him. He didn't want them to ever gain a leg up over him on anything. So suicide was not an option.
Besides, his father had told him when he died, his soul would be sent right back to Hell anyway. Shendu was anxious to torture his son's sinned lost soul after he expired, that was something he looked forward to. In the meantime, he enjoyed tormenting him while he was still alive.
Drago almost wished he never was born, that's how terrible it was for him lately. He had to escape this living nightmare, six years was bad enough.
Shendu had laughed at him when he found out he was upset about being in Hell for only six years. That amount of time was like half an hour to the Fire demon.
"When you've been here for several hundreds of thousands of years, then you can whine, boy." Shendu had said to him in the most demeaning of ways.
"But then again, you'd be dead long before that much time passes. Disgusting human halfling, dare you fail and embarrass me so? Get out of my sight!" With his true hatred said, Drago's father turned his back on him.
This caused Drago to be even more determined to escape. He desperately longed to be free again, free to walk on the Earth, and torture living humans.
He missed it all... Hunting them down to the brink of sheer terror, feasting upon fresh human meat... Having delicious wonderful sex with Jade..and being with her...
Drago closed his eyes hard. No, he mustn't fall for her again. Loving her was such a big mistake for his evil side. It made him her fool to control. Deep inside he knew she loved him back, but his evil side didn't want to believe it was so.
True love, pah! It was nothing more than a trick to get rid of him eventually. Like she wanted to do in the first place...
Being close to Drago gave her control over him that she would have never gotten otherwise. That was why his evil side prevented him from being lured back to Jade again. Even though he yearned to be with her again.
He could feel that his human side was pretty much dead and his evil side was comforted by that. Committing terrible unspeakable evil acts in Hell was a piece of cake, but it did not ease the pain he still felt in his heart for Jade.
Drago felt even more torn from losing Jade than when his demon and human sides fought. He wanted her back in his arms to hold and keep forever as a willing lover, yet he also wanted to thrash her endlessly for betraying him.
Of course he couldn't do both since beating her would instantly make her no longer willing. He didn't want that, he still wanted her to be willing, yet his demon side screamed at him to not let her get away with her betrayals.
He would have to think of a suitable punishment for her, one that would not ruin her into running away from him again. He had to discipline her somehow, but the how part was what he was still working on.
To Drago's surprise, Jade was sleeping still or had went to sleep again, he wasn't sure. He knew if he kept at this, he would succeed in escaping Hell altogether. Just several more sessions like this and he would be able to get Jade to free him.
He couldn't wait. Touching her in astral form in the Dreamscape world just wasn't the same as touching her for real. He had to get free as soon as possible. He had to go back home...
Shendu watched his son from afar hiding behind a large pile of black bloodstained boulders. Once he realized what his son was up to, he had to bite his tongue from hissing in hated shock and rage.
That accursed brat! He dared to leave this realm without his dear old father? How dare he! Shendu couldn't believe his son could actually enter a sleeping human's dreams without the Sheep Talisman.
He didn't even know his son knew of such magic! Who taught him, he'd love to ring their neck! The Fire demon thought quickly. He could use this to his advantage, well maybe.
Shendu doubted his son was smart enough to put a blocking spell on the portal he was working for. If he did, then Shendu would not be able to escape afterall.
He was pretty sure his son did not know the correct blocking spell, so he did not worry much about it. Afterall, his son was half human and that alone limited his knowledge greatly.
A portal opening to the human world always had a special scent to it, astral or not. Once Shendu smelled that scent coming from his son, he would know it would be high time to enter HIS dreams and possibly escape to the human world with him. Then he would be free to walk the Earth yet again!
Shendu decided he would wait patiently to strike. He waited nine hundred years trapped in stone until that fool Valmont came along and freed him.
He certainly could wait a month or two while his son worked his scales off for an open portal in some human's dream. Even if he couldn't use the portal, that small tear in the dimensional lining would still be useful to Shendu.
He could work on that tear for as long as he had to until he could stretch it just enough to slip through. It might take several thousand years to do such a thing, but it was better than nothing at all.
The Fire demon hissed quietly to himself. He wondered which human's dream his son was peering into...
When Jade opened her eyes, she instantly knew something was wrong. She was laying on the ground, though not in the jungle forest. Somehow she was back in the village. Drago was no where to be seen and that worried her.
Plus, her blouse and shorts were gone and replaced with a similar outfit that Lily wore. Angry that someone changed her clothes without her knowing, she felt disgusted and embarrassed.
Who knows which of these crazy people saw her naked while putting this horrible 'outfit' on her. Her expensive leather shoes were gone too! She was just as upset that they would drag her back here again.
And for what? Then she remembered. The challenge. Well, fine then. She'll take on that stupid Lily no problem then. Once Jade won then Lily would have to leave her and Drago alone. She stood up to look around. She never saw this part of the village before.
Suddenly, Lily appeared from seemingly nowhere and smirked rather evilly at her. She was holding two spears and chucked one at Jade's feet.
"Take your weapon. You'll need it to survive the journey through the jungle to the shoreline. We are being timed and whoever makes it to the beach first will win this part of the challenge. The loser must give up her weapon. Then we shall fight to the death on the highest cliff, Mochadean." she explained, then grabbed Jade by her hair. She pulled her up into standing roughly.
Jade didn't take this abuse lightly and punched her away. Lily scowled at her.
"Save it for Mochadean, Jade..." she snapped, glaring. "You'll need it..."
"What have you done to Drago? Where is he?" Jade said between tightly clenched teeth, glowering back. Lily grinned strangely.
"Only the winner will get to see him. This challenge is about to begin, so get ready..."
Then Lily looked to her left and her father Yole appeared. Jade couldn't believe that the blackened person was chief elder. He was covered in mud and dried blood. Yuck!
Then the guards moved and they too were covered like Yole. The chief elder and several guards were holding a strange staff that was huge and very long. Wicked sharp blades were melded together in an uncanny way.
"With thee Warrior staff of Death created by Shendu himself, I hereby decree this challenge between my daughter and the outsider to begin...now!" he shouted, then he and the guards dropped the staff down to the ground.
In a flash, Lily was gone in seconds as she took off into the dense lush jungle. Jade scowled to herself as she rushed after her. This wasn't fair! Lily knew every inch of this place, Jade didn't.
'Oh well, so what! I can get through this challenge easy...if I can just get to that stinkin' beach first...' she thought to herself. Suddenly, Drago's words from her dream rang through her head. Head East to the beach!
Using her natural sense of direction and noting where the sun was rising from the sky, she had no trouble heading East. Dodging deadly snakes hanging from vines and narrowly escaping the wrath of a wild boar down a steep, but short cliff, Jade kept going.
She knew something wasn't right through. She felt horrible and so weak... Why?
Her bare skin was lacerated from the unforgiving jungle and her feet ached. It had been over four hours of constantly being on the move in this terrible heat and she was very thirsty. She wasn't sure if she'd ever make it to that beach in time. But she just had to!
"I-I can't give up. I've got to get there...!" she said tiredly. Lost in thought and wondering where to get a drink from, she tripped and fell into a large hole that was dug out ahead of time. A trap!
Mean laughter was heard and Lily appeared at the edge, looking down. "You!" Jade cried, angry and appalled. She couldn't believe she had the nerve to cheat like this!
"I knew the sleeping gases would make you sluggish, but I never knew it would work this well! You truly are pathetic! Ha hahaa!" Lily cackled, her nearly exposed diseased breasts bouncing. It was a disgusting sight to see.
"No matter who wins this stupid challenge, Drago will still pick me, witch!" Jade hollered up at her. Lily kicked some dirt and rocks down.
"The only witch here is you, deceiver! Lord Drago is mine to marry!" she screamed, her eyes insane. Then she grinned again. She snapped her fingers and guards appeared. They threw a rope down to Jade and pulled her out.
Jade didn't know whether to thank them or to beat the every living tar out of Lily, when the guards restrained her suddenly. Yelling, Jade tried to break free, but they overpowered her with surprise and strength.
Once Jade was tied up good and tight against a tree, Lily made the guards leave. She paced around Jade, giggling evilly the whole time. Jade struggled against the ropes, but she couldn't get them loose, not even a little bit.
"When you never show up for the fight to the death on Mochadean, I will win by default. I should win anyway. I am the ONLY one worthy to marry Lord Drago. NOT you, outsider scum." she said hatefully, ripping Jade's engagement ring off her finger and putting it on her own ring finger.
"You're the scum! Dirty lying cheating SCUM!" Jade retorted angrily, vicious that Lily stole her ring like that. "Give back that ring! It's mine!"
"Not anymore. This ring is to be worn by the REAL queen of Lord Drago." Lily said evilly. "But if you can get to the beach before I do, I will return it to you." she added, believing there was no way Jade could ever get free.
Jade didn't know what to do other than spit in her face, which she did. Twice.
Lily grit her teeth and then buried her fast flying fist into Jade's gut at least ten times over before she stopped finally. The Chinese woman cried out in pain, but was unable to defend her tied up self. They glared at each other moments after.
"What are you going to do? Just leave me here?" Jade asked bitterly, being strong despite her bad situation.
"Don't worry, Jade. Lovely big cats roam these jungles looking for fresh meat all the time. You won't have to stay here long at all." Lily said, going over to some bushes where she was hiding something.
She went back to Jade, holding a tiny lantern on a string. She spoke some strange words and it began to smoke on its own. Laughing, Lily tied it to a low hanging branch above Jade's head.
"This is some insurance for me that you won't even have a chance to break free while waiting for those beasts to find you. Well, goodbye and good riddance, Outsider." Lily left quickly, leaving Jade to fall victim to the lantern's sleep smoke.
Jade tried to stay awake so she could free herself somehow, but soon her head bowed as she soon feel into a deep sleep. She found herself in Hell again... What the heck?!
Soon, she felt Drago's presence and turned to him. Almost like clockwork, he took her into his arms and hugged her close. "Did you find that relic yet?" he asked, his voice deep and powerful.
Jade found this dream to be too much like real life and had to ask him something. She looked up at him and placed her hands against his biceps, rubbing her thumbs over his scales.
"Not yet. I can't find that stupid beach. I was walking for hours and then stupid witch Delilah got her goon guards to tie me to a tree. She put some weird smoking lantern near me and I feel asleep..." she paused before going on.
"Drago... This isn't a dream, is it? You're telepathically communicating with me somehow, aren't you?"
Adult Drago brought a claw near her face, caressing her cheek. He couldn't help feeling this fondness for her despite her betraying him. He was able to talk so hatefully about her to his younger self since she wasn't there beguiling him.
But now that he could touch her again in some sort of way, he was being enticed by her all over again. He couldn't believe he was falling for that same trap. He mustn't let his emotions control him like before. It only led him to his doom.
Still, he couldn't help how he felt. Years in Hell hardened him like steel, but just a few fleeting moments with Jade once more melted his steel walls bit by bit. If only they could stay together forever... If only she would accept him being evil...
"Yes, I am. The Serpentans' have me trapped someplace I can't escape. You have to do as I say to free me." he said, liking this. He could easily get her to release him with this clever believable lie.
"I'll do anything to free you, Drago. I love you." she said softly, leaning her head against his chest. She was disturbed to hear no heartbeat though. She didn't know what to make of that.
He kept his arms around her tightly, lowering his head down as he enclosed her in a loving hug. "I love you too... So very much..." he whispered almost silently.
Then he lifted his head and looked at her, affection showing through his eyes. She looked back at him, fondly. She closed her eyes as he kissed her tenderly.
Moments later, he hugged her tight again. He wished he could hold on to her forever. But he had to get her to say that spell otherwise he'd never escape from here.
"Just chant this incantation for me and I'll give you my strength to beat that idiotic Delilah human." Drago purred, tracing her lips with his clawed index finger. The two shared another long passionate kiss then he told her the spell.
Jade listened carefully to the spell and did her best to get her tongue to pronounce those strange words. They almost sounded like demonic speech, but she didn't worry about it. She had to free him from those dumb Serpentans people no matter what.
It took her several tries to say the spell right, but she finally finished it. She felt like she might have made a mistake since Drago was smiling so evilly then that it actually bothered her.
Plus, seconds after that wicked smile, thunder and lightning crashed around them from the red skies. Powerful winds picked up and Jade held onto Drago so she wouldn't be blown away.
"What's happening?!" she cried, disturbed. She didn't get an answer since she was engulfed by an incredible surge of energy. Her eyes flew open as she woke up in the real world, still tied to the tree.
What she didn't know was that she allowed Drago to use her body and soul as a waiting station for the right timeline to naturally come along. Then a portal would open for him in Hell for him to escape. In return as a small reward, he gave her portion of his strength to get out of her current dire situation.
'Go ahead and pull yourself free.'
She gasped. Was that...Drago's voice coming from inside her head? Whoa! She wasn't sure if this was really real or not.
'Hurry up, Jade! Get off that d-mn tree already!' he shouted at her in her mind. Numbly, she pulled her arms forward and the once unbreakable ropes snapped like string cheese.
She freed her legs and was back on the ground. "Umm, ok, now what?" she asked, still dazed. She believed Drago was helping her from wherever the Serpentans were holding him. Somehow.
'You have my speed too. Use it!' he replied, wishing she would just hurry up and get that flute. Once she gave it to his younger self, he could go back to protecting his soul in Hell. Every moment now, he was unprotected and he was getting worried.
Jade continued her journey to the East and found it really fun to run this fast! In a mere five minutes, she was at the beach. Finally! She remembered to search the water's edge, which she did.
To help her, Drago scanned the area himself since he could sense demon chi fairly well. The closer he was, the easier it was for him. The beach was incredibly enormous and it took Jade time to run the full length of it.
At last, he sensed it buried three feet below the wet mushy sand and ordered her to dig for it. The waves crashing up upon her made the work difficult, but after thirty or so minutes, she had the flute in her hands.
She felt something wasn't right about this. The flute had a terrible aura of evil within it. The chi was familiar to Hsi Wu's... She dropped it in shock.
'Pick it up! Don't lose it! It's the only thing that'll save us from those Serpentan lunatics! D-mn it, Jade! Pick it the h-ll up! NOW!' he roared at her, his adult demon voice powerful and impressive. Jade did pick it up again and frowned.
"Okay, you jerk! I picked it up! Now where are you? I want to give this thing to you and cram it down your throat!" she said back angrily. A gurgling mean bestial growling entered her head, making her brain buzz.
'Just go to the f-cking cliff you see to the North. I'll be there waiting for you...' he snapped rather viciously and Jade narrowed her eyes.
"Hey! What is your problem? And what's with that heavy voice?" she asked, but then she noticed her mind felt lighter and she didn't feel that surge of raw energy anymore. "Drago? Hello? Gecko-butt? You there?"
