J2: The Deception

As she tried to figure out how they could leave this accursed place, she felt a metal object brushing against her thigh. Of course! The flute! She remembered in her dream that Drago told her the flute would save them from peril!

"Drago!" she cried, excited and happy suddenly. He looked at her, feeling dizzy from the blood loss.

"What?" he asked, then saw her holding a flute. What was the big deal? Then he noticed the demon chi wafting from it, raising his spirits.

"This- this flute will save us! You told me so in my dream!" she cried, holding it out to him. He gave her a strange look. He did no such thing. What in the world was she talking about?

Then he widened his eyes. No way. Did his older self show himself in Jade's dream? Hmm... He must have!

Drago didn't know what to think at first, other than it was a good thing his older self convinced Jade into letting him have the demon chi powers. Perfect!

Jade put it into his right claw, smiling. This was it! They were going to be saved at last! She felt proud that she succeeded in helping her lover get this special flute.

Drago felt the raw demon chi energy shoot into his claw and up his arm, then spreading throughout his body. Then nerve-wracking anguish detonated inside him and he screamed loudly.

Jade backed up, fearing she made a mistake in giving him that flute. What was going on?! Drago held his head, crying out his pain and shaking.

Suddenly, two long limbs sprang out his backside. Blood and gore showered everywhere. Jade recoiled, turning her head to save it from the red spray. When she looked at him again, he was shivering and gasping for air.

Huge long wings jutted from him. They looked like bat-like demon wings... Wings like Hsi Wu's!

"Drago!" Jade cried and rushed over to him. "Are you alright?" She dared to touch the wings, even though they were covered in blood and meaty stuff.

He didn't answer her at first and stayed bent over. It looked like he was trying to recover from this transformation. Jade noticed something weird about his eyes and cocked her head for a better view.

Were they all red for a second there? His eyes glowed a full red color for a moment, then it went away. Drago barely could stand this new power. He blinked several times before shaking his head hard.

Slowly, he stood up straight and proud. Jade felt a little relieved, but unsure about things now. Maybe she shouldn't have given him that flute. She did feel terrible amounts of black chi coming from it...

She noticed his wounds were pretty much healed and she was thankful for that. She went to him and put her arms around him, which didn't feel the same. He was a little bigger, not much, but enough for her to see this difference.

"I'm fine now. Thanks for finding that flute. Now let's get the h-ll out of here." he said, picking her up in his arms. Jade smiled, even though she felt awful. That flute must have had Hsi Wu's demon chi in it somehow and she stupidly gave it to Drago.

She didn't mind him being stronger, but she didn't want him become more evil. Unfortunately, it was too late. She forced herself not to worry about it. He was still acting like himself even now, so she shoved her 'what-if's' away.

Drago ran through the jungle heading away from the village and that Mochadean mountain. Coming across a waterfall and a stream, Jade helped him quickly wash off the bloody mess from his body.

She made sure to get a good long cool drink as well before they continued onward. After traveling some more, Drago chose a location he deemed safe enough to take off from. One powerful leap and they were in the sky, flying free.

Jade was amazed by how well he flew even without learning how to first. And he flew as fast as he could run, making her bare sore skin freeze up in no time.

"D-Drago! S-s-slow down!" she cried, her teeth chattering. Being this high up in the air without much clothes on was a killer. He held her tighter to himself and willed more heat to his arms.

"Don't worry, Jade. I know where we are now. I'm flying us to safety." he said, looking down at her. Having her close to him like this really increased the cleavage between her nearly naked breasts.

He slowed down and floated in place so he could kiss her. She welcomed his warm kisses to her icy lips, murmuring her affection. He pulled away, then lowered his head to her cold breasts.

Giggling, she pushed his hungry lips away. "Drago, stop it. We've got to find land first. Then you can play with me." she purred, touching his face lovingly.

He grinned slyly, having other ideas. "Come on, let me play with you now! You know you want to f-ck me in the air, so let's screw away!" he friskily purred back.

Jade laughed, gently slapping him. "Ew! You're so sick! Like I want to have sex while you're flying, yeah right! Sure!" she cried, blushing. In the back of her mind, she was really enjoying him with wings like this.

It was like Drago was Hsi Wu, but still himself, all in one. Now she could really have her cake and eat it too this way. This made her very happy.

"I'm glad you agree!" he teased back, fingering her groin while holding onto her with only one arm. She squealed in delight and hung onto his neck.

"You jerk! Hold me with both hands! I don't want to fall!" she yelled, then closed her eyes in pleasure as he kept caressing her clitoris. He chuckled sexily hearing her moan passionately into the side of his neck.

"I'll never let you fall, Jade. Don't worry so much..." he said softly, feeling her slowly becoming wet. He stroked her harder and faster, relishing the sweet sounds of her enjoyment.

After all that wild intercourse, Jade felt herself slowly drifting off to sleep. She trusted Drago not to drop her and snuggled in his arms.

"Wake me when you find dry land, Scaly." she murmured, nodding off. Drago sighed, shaking his head with a happy look on his face. If only Jade would be like this for when he tried to get the other demon chi powers, that would be great!

He already felt different from the Sky demon chi. It filled him with indescribable power and the wings were a big plus. He never knew how to fly before, but with Hsi Wu's chi, all his flying skills seemed to come naturally along with the powers themselves.

Drago definitely liked flying, it was everything he guessed it would be and a lot more. He hugged Jade tightly to himself and flapped his wings faster.

He could see an island in the distance. Soon, he could rest a little and get home. There were other demon chi powers to claim! It took him about half an hour to get to the island and he landed on a deserted beach area.

He sniffed the air carefully and smelled plenty of humans off to the northeast. Whenever he smelled that many humans in one place, that meant there had to be a town. Hopefully one that could direct them to the nearest airport.

Drago decided to not wake Jade until he found this town first. He folded his wings close to his body and began walking into the dense jungle beyond the beach.

After tramping through that annoying jungle for nearly an hour, he decided to stop for now. Jade had been awake for a while and wanted to find this town desperately. But Drago was too tired to go on.

"Come on, Drago. Let's keep going! I've got to get more clothes. Today. I'm cold." she said irritably. He slumped down against a twisted tall tree and growled at her.

"H-ll no! We're staying here until I'm not so d-mn tired!" he snapped, then softened his harsh gaze. "Just sleep too. I'll keep you warm." He patted the ground next to him.

Jade sighed, giving up. She could go ahead without him, but she didn't want to get separated from him. Especially not now when he had that new demon chi power in him. Having Hsi Wu's powers couldn't mean anything good.

What if...he started to act like Hsi Wu? That spry Sky demon was a supreme trickster and his lies were disguised so well that they sounded like truths.

She did NOT want Drago to go back to being a similar charlatan, he was just as bad as Hsi Wu. Sitting down next to him, she leaned against his side in a slight huff.

He placed his wing around her and put his left arm over her shoulders, warming her. He rested his head on top of hers and closed his eyes with a smile. When he commanded, she obeyed without much trouble. Good.

No matter what, he had to be the dominating one here and he was. Always and forever. He was pleased that Jade seemed to be getting that through her head after all these months.

She hadn't challenged him much anymore and her silly ideas of dominating him were no longer voiced. She was to bow at his feet and pleasure him whenever he said so or else!

He stopped in thought and wondered why he was thinking like this so much. He didn't want to force her to favor him, she did all that willingly. It was only natural for her to desire him.

He realized that absorbing the Sky demon chi made his own demon chi stronger and gave his evil side a more powerful voice. He dismissed those overly power-hungry thoughts away.

He had plenty of control over Jade. She obeyed him rather well even though it was clear that she didn't want to. She shouldn't make such a fuss about being cold. He could easily keep her warm with his fire and by making love to her.

Falling asleep at last, his breathing became slow and heavy. Jade sighed, stuck being his 'hug toy'. He slid down on his side and held her close. She put her hand on his golden scaly chest and scraped her nails over his dragon armor.

They were tough and rugged, yet smooth and soft when she stroked her hand over them. How could those arrows cut through these steel-like scales? It just didn't make any sense.

Of course, she knew good chi could harm evil beings, but could it cut them like butter? If so, Jade hoped Jim would never learn of this knowledge otherwise, Drago might be in trouble.

Maybe Jim already did know though! Jade remembered back to when she was stuck in Hell with Drago and Sid. Jim was there too and he attacked Shendu with some sort of spear that pierced his back.

She wondered why Jim didn't try using more of those types of weapons if he could make them? Maybe they were too hard to make all the time? That had to be it. She knew Jim wouldn't pass up using a 'perfect' weapon on an enemy.

During his slumber, Drago accidentally covered Jade's face with his right wing. She reached up to pull it off and felt dark chi flowing off of it. She withdrew her hand in sadness.

'I don't want you to get more evil, Drago... I hope you don't find anymore of these demon chi powers...' she thought, blinking back tears. 'It was hard enough to tame you as you were before.'

Back when she first knew him, his evilness then was powerful and that dark chi radiated off him like heat from fire. Winning his heart caused that dark chi heat to cool down pretty much where she didn't hardly notice his evilness.

But now that he had this new evil power, that dark chi flared up once more and she could sense it best from his wings. She had always involuntarily feared him due to that dark chi 'heat', since that evilness caused him to be deadly and violent.

Sensing dark chi was like smelling a terrible stench, but it also gave you the feeling of dread at the same time. She couldn't accept him being evil, even though she wanted to just so she could continue being with him.

She thought she could just take him as-is anyway since she loved him so much and he was so fun to be with. Also, his dark chi was well suppressed and it made doing all that easier without feeling guilty. She enjoyed having nothing to remind her that she was in love with a deadly evil killer who wasn't all human.

But with Hsi Wu's power flowing through Drago, she now had a reminder of what she was doing. Even though their love for each other was true, what she was doing was questionable. Even wrong. That being especially true in Uncle and Jackie's eyes, plus her parents.

'I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm not! Drago and I can be together, even if...if he stays evil... I just have to make this work out somehow. I have to!' she thought, biting her lip. A horrid thought came to her. What if Drago went back to his old ways and started killing people again?

What if he tried to kill the people who opposed his love for her...? Like Uncle and Jackie? And her parents? What if he succeeded in hurting or killing any of them? Could she still make their relationship work?

Would she still want to be with him then? Even if he killed Jackie and Uncle AND her parents...?

Two tears dripped down her cheeks. She didn't want to think about these troubling 'what-if's' anymore. She would just make sure he didn't get more evil, that's all. But how?

She knew how overpowering the dark chi of the Shadowkhan was and she couldn't resist it, even though she had an abundance of good chi. She worried that Drago probably wouldn't be able to resist the dark chi either, especially since he was already part evil to begin with...

Jade began to see this as a battle for her to win him from evil, for once and for all. But she dreaded that if she failed, she would lose him and that thought made her want to die. She wouldn't be able to live without him, absolutely not!

Her love HAD to be stronger than evil and it had to be enough to save Drago...from himself.

Later in the day, Drago felt rested enough to go find that town. Jade clung to his backside for a piggyback ride. She was getting hungry and sick of being practically naked. Sure she liked being out in the wild surviving, but she'd like to have some decent clothes on at least!

Suddenly, Drago stopped and crouched low to the ground, hiding in the jungle leaves. Jade then learned why he did so. She heard some people talking loudly close by. About three yards away were three men laughing about something.

Drago sniffed their scents and stiffened his body to stop himself from hunting them down. Sheesh! Hsi Wu's demon chi sure upped his own demon chi pretty well. He almost felt like his old self there, ready to stalk some prey.

No way was he going to do it in front of Jade. She would never let him hear the end of it and he wasn't about to lose her willing nature towards him.

"Hey!" Jade whispered in his ear then. "I know those guys!" Drago widened his eyes, then narrowed them. "What?!" he hissed back, getting extremely annoyed. More 'guy'-friends? ROAR!

Jade got off his back then and went to them, calling out.

"Frank! Charley! Rocko!" she cried, running through the leaves. The men stopped and saw Jade, a friend they hadn't seen in years. But they remembered her just the same.

"Jade??" Frank gasped, unable to believe his eyes. Was this really Jade? What was she doing in Hawaii? And what happened to her clothes? Charley and Rocko stared at her too, taken back by her beauty too.

"What are you doing here?" Charley asked, eyes wide. Boy was Jade hot looking! Rocko blushed at the sight of her, she was so pretty and curvy.

"Yeah... Uhh, where'd all your clothes go?" the large man asked, scratching the back of his neck in embarrassment. Jade began blushing too then. She was so happy to see them again that she forgot momentarily how she was 'dressed'.

"It's a long story. Um, can I ask you guys a favor?" she asked, crossing her arms to hide her breasts a bit. But she only made her cleavage grow, causing the three men to get ideas. They all replied positively for her.

"Sure, Jade. Whatta'ya need?" Frank asked. Rocko looked at his friend, then Jade.

"She needs clothes!" he cried, blushing again. Charley nodded, though he wouldn't mind seeing her completely naked. Frank too was having similar thoughts himself.

"Yeah, I need clothes and some place to eat and shower. I'll pay you guys back, don't worry." she said, smiling nervously. Frank took a few steps to her, nodding.

"No, don't you worry! We'll take good care of you and maybe you can enjoy Hawaii with us since you're here." he said, surprising Jade.

"Hawaii?! You're kidding me! I'm in Hawaii?" she cried, shocked. Drago was able to fly that far, that fast? Well, it wasn't like she knew where that island the Serpentans' lived on, but she knew how big the Pacific Ocean was. Wow!

"You weren't drinking anything before you got here, right?" Charley asked, wondering why she didn't know where she was. He always remembered her as the sharpest knife in the drawer.

"No! Of course not!" Jade said, a bit peeved. "Look, like I said, it's a long story. I'll explain it to you guys after I get some clothes and eat something."

The men all looked surprised suddenly then. Jade turned and saw Drago in human form standing behind her. She happily started to introduce him to her friends.

"Oh, guys, this is my fiancé, Drake Sung. Drake, this is Frank, Charley, and Rocko." she said, pointing them out to the very irritated Drago. "They're Finn, Chow, and Ratso's nephews." she added in a more quiet voice.

The men were instantly downhearted to see that Jade was already taken by this guy. Though...being engaged didn't mean married and they could still try their luck.

Drago did NOT like these guys and since he was a controlling pushy jerk, he was jealous all over again.

Though hearing Jade tell them that he was her fiancé, it didn't ease his new jealous worries much. What if these guys were just as persistent as that idiot Jim? He didn't want to go through more Jim-like idiots. Jade was his! End of story.

"Nice to meet you." Frank said, trying to be polite to make himself look good in front of Jade. He stuck his hand out for a handshake. Drago glared at him testily, saying nothing.

Jade noticed this and felt so embarrassed. Not this again! Why did he have to be so jealous? Just because she had guy friends didn't mean she loved him any less.

Charley also noticed Drago's rudeness and gave him a funny look. Why in the world would Jade want to marry this touchy cold guy? Weird!

"Well, if you guys have a hotel room or something, let's get going. I'm starved!" Jade said, fearing Drago's vicious moody glares would change into vicious moody killings.

"Sure thing, Jade. It's not far in the town about a mile away." Frank said, smiling. Drago disliked how this guy was looking at his fiancée.

"Jade and I are not staying long. Got it?" Drago spoke finally, his voice authoritative and unkind. Jade shook her head. "I'm sorry, he's a bit cranky since he flew us here all day long. He's tired and hungry." she said, trying to make up for his rudeness.

"It's ok, Jade." Frank said, still smiling at her. His expression changed when he glanced at Drago. He was not liking this guy at all. What a temperamental a-shole...

"He doesn't mind it if I enjoy Hawaii for at least a day, right?" Jade said strangely, giving Drago the Look. He glared down at her, believing this was just a ploy to be around her other boyfriends, er guy friends.

"Yes he does mind..." Drago growled dangerously, staring her down. To his annoyance, she stared back and was challenging him. How dare she!

"No he doesn't..." she growled back, not backing down this time. She was tired of him getting his way. She gave up last time, now it was his turn.

"Sheesh, you two sound like you're already married!" Charley commented, crossing his arms. Rocko nodded brainlessly. Frank had an unhappy look on his face. Having this Drake guy around would not make it easy for him to talk to Jade.

Seeing her like how she was now piqued his interest. His friends were hoping to find girlfriends in Hawaii and were looking around for some when Jade suddenly appeared before them, beautiful and sexy.

But she already had a boyfriend, that Drake-Jerk. Well, they weren't married yet, so Frank thought he still could try for her anyway. What did he have to lose?

"Come on, Drake! Let Jade have some fun! You shouldn't let her miss out on Hawaii." Frank said, hoping to get together with Jade later, alone. He could only do that if he could get her to the hotel.

"Yeah, be a good sport! How can you pass up on seeing Hawaii?" Charley said, putting his hands on his hips. Rocko laughed loudly.

"You'd have to be crazy to leave here without seeing stuff." he said, grinning to his pals as they pointed out activities together.

"We can watch the hula girls dance while drinking beer at a luau!" Charley said, getting ideas. If Jade wasn't up for grabs, surely a hula girl would be.

"And eat thick slabs of juicy red meat!" Rocko cried, rubbing his huge stomach.

"And watch the hula girls dance." Charley said, grinning naughtily.

"And eat lots of food!" Rocko said, anxious for dinner now. Frank shook his head with a weak smile, rolling his eyes.

"We can help show you around. We've been here for a week so far, so we know the best places to go." Frank offered, looking at Jade kindly.

"No thanks." Drago snapped, pushing him aside and walking past. Jade blew her curling bangs up in exasperation and gave Frank a friendly smile.

"I'd really appreciate it, Frank. Thanks. Now let's get to the hotel. I've got to eat something!" she said. Rocko beamed. "Goodie! Dinner time!"

Jade went to Drago who was wandering off in a jealous huff and grabbed his arm. She snuggled him and tried to make him less hostile.

Frank, Charley, and Rocko were climbing up a steep embankment to a roadway to their rental car a short distance away.

"Come on, Drago..." she whispered, going in front of him then and hugged him close. "Please? I've always wanted to enjoy Hawaii with you. Let's stay for a while."

The fiery teen scowled, his eyes burning with doubtful suspicion. But the shining look of her big brown eyes got to him and he relented. He didn't want to let her stay here fearing that she might be stolen away by those new guys he'd never known about before.

Of course he knew she loved him, but still he didn't trust her. She could turn on him at any time like his older self warned him. Actually, he said she DID betray him and maybe this was what he meant?? Drago couldn't be sure, but he wasn't taking any chances.

Jade was his and no one else's, ever! He had to protect her at all costs. He couldn't afford to lose her, his heart wouldn't be able to handle such a loss.

Still, if he stopped her from having fun, she would never let him forget it. He hated nagging so...

"Rrrugh! All-... Alright." he grumbled reluctantly. Jade gave him a quick kiss on the lips and hugged him again.

"Thanks, Drago. Sheesh, you don't have to worry. I'm not interested in them. I'm only interested in you, silly." she said lovingly, resting her head against his bare chest.

She felt his arms encircle her tightly, holding her like a precious treasure. Then he let her go, his eyes strange and filled with doubt. She looked at him seriously.

"You still don't trust me?" she asked, feeling a bit hurt. He stared back, deep in her eyes as he admitted the truth out loud.

"No. I don't." he simply said and turned his back on her. Jade bit her lip, feeling terrible. How could he not trust her? She took on that crazy challenge from Delilah, nearly getting killed in the process.

She braved the demonic hordes at those space stations on Mars and in Hell itself, trusting him more and more. Why couldn't he trust her back?

She risked her whole career by keeping his identity a secret after she knew he was Drake. She never ratted him out, she did the opposite!

Hadn't she proven herself enough to him? Didn't love and trust come together automatically? Sadly, it appeared the answer was no and it shook her up.

She felt that terrible lonely distance between her lover trying to return and she wanted to eliminate it. Forever.

Even though he didn't trust her, he still was madly in love with her. Something Jade had a hard time understanding. She thought that her love would get him to trust her, but it didn't. Maybe things didn't work the way she originally thought.

After all, he was her first serious lover and she learned so much from him on how love works. But trust, that had to be a different chapter all together. She wondered what more she could do to get him to trust her.

Obviously their love meters were stuffed to the brim, overflowing even. But none of that seemed to help with the trust issue. Jade wondered if Shendu had brainwashed Drago into believing humans were not trustworthy or something like that. Perhaps he tricked him into believing such a lie?

She recalled hearing Drago mumble such things often when he was angry, so that had to be it! So maybe no matter what she did for him wouldn't sway him since he could be stuck in a mind set that Shendu had a hand, er claw in causing. She decided to un-brainwash him and then he could finally trust her. Yeah, that's what she had to do.

She would do anything to earn his trust, she just wished she knew how! But now, maybe she did. Change his way of thinking a little and see what happens.

Frank, Charley, and Rocko called for them to hurry up and Jade was surprised to see Drago actually going to their car. She followed close behind, covering up her first disappointment to determination. She had a game plan now.

If love got her this far with Drago, then she could 'use' it to get past his last defenses and dig even deeper into his mind. She hoped it was just Shendu's evil brainwashing and not Drago's own choice to be this way.

She had to get this relationship to work, no matter what!

Sitting in the backseat and to the window, Drago made sure no one sat next to her, but himself. Although she was getting squashed most of the time, she didn't mind it.

She was getting chances to do away with Drago's doubts about her by expressing her fondness towards him in front of the other guys. She put her right arm around his middle and her left hand to his broad chest, while resting her head on his collarbone.

Charley noticed this in his rear view mirror while he was driving and decided to give up on Jade. She obviously had the hots for this Drake guy and he wasn't up for the challenge of fighting for her. It would be easier to get a girl who wasn't devoted to another guy already.

Rocko had to comment, friendly and curious. "What's it like to be in love?" he wondered, innocent and unknowing. He tried to peer over at Jade as he sat next to Drago. She snuggled against her lover and sighed.

"It's wonderful, Rocko." she said with a grin. Drago scoffed funny there, alerting her that he was still upset. She tried not to worry, but he had a reply to voice.

"It's also nerve-wracking." Drago said, having a game plan of his own. "What do you mean?" Rocko asked, confused. Drago snorted in disgust.

"I mean, I have to worry every second of the f-cking day about Jade. You can't trust her loose in the city, day or night." Drago said, shocking and then enraging Jade. She did NOT like what he was implying here!

Drago had a plan on making Jade look like a big time cheating whore and they wouldn't want her. He hoped so at least.

"Oooo! Naughty, naughty!" Charley scolded teasingly, shaking his head. "I don't get it." Rocko said, scratching his head.

Frank looked to the backseat from his place in the front passenger seat. "What Drake's saying is that Jade's not exactly loyal." he explained to Rocko. Then he looked at Jade with a strange stare.

"Are you really like that, Jade?"

Jade felt her cheeks grow hot and knew they must be red. She pushed Drago away and turned away from them all.

"No! Of course not!" she cried, glaring angrily through the window. She saw a dormant volcano off in the distance. She wished it would explode, because she felt like she was about to.

"Oh, yeah? What about Jim, Jade?" Drago pointed out. Charley wailed out more tease-scolding. Jade whipped her head back to face the fiery teen disguised in human skins.

"What about him? He's my friend!" she cried, not knowing why Drago was doing this to her all of sudden.

"Ha! A friend, she says." Charley said, like he didn't believe that one. Drago's eyes spoke the same as she looked into them with great ire.

"Just a friend? I saw you kiss that as-hole more than once! So stop lying and tell them how you used to 'shop around' when you dated him and me at the same time! If that's not two-timing, what is?"

"I still don't get it." Rocko said, a bewildered look on his face still.

Frank didn't like how Drago was giving Jade the third-degree. Maybe she didn't choose Drago here, maybe she was forced into accepting him. He could tell how much of a pushy controlling jerk he was already. It wasn't really hard to spot those types anyway.

"Ok, Drake. Leave Jade alone. If she's so disloyal, why do you still want to marry her?" Frank asked, starting to see through Drago's scheming plan.

"That's none of your d-mned business." Drago replied, noticing that Frank wasn't being fooled and gave up on trying to trick them. It was just too hard to make Jade look undesirable.

She was everything any man would want, so Drago was willing to do anything to hide her perfect qualities from other males, even dirty it up. Though it did feel good to point out what he saw as her biggest flaws.

Her 'fooling' around with Jim really destroyed any trust he might have had for her before and whenever he saw her with other guys, he was reminded of her infidelity all over again.

"Ooo, touchy." Charley teased again, turning into the hotel's parking lot. Drago 'hmph'ed irritably. Jade was silent with rage. Frank turned around to look at Jade again.

"Wait here, I'll get some clothes for you real quick." He got out of the car and his friends followed.

Jade wanted to leave right there and then. But she couldn't go running around practically naked in a public place. So she angrily and stubbornly sat.

"Why'd you have to say all those terrible things about me in front of them??" Jade blurted out suddenly in rage, glaring at him. Her vicious demeanor didn't phase him at all.

"Because they're interested in you. I had to get them to think you weren't worth their time. What's so wrong about that?" he asked, miffed too.

"Sheesh, Drago! You might as well told them I had AIDS or something like that! Now they'll tell everyone that I'm a dirty slut having sex with every guy out on the street!" she cried, feeling that her reputation was now ruined.

    "I said you were a two-timer, not a prostitute."

"You said I can't be trusted while 'loose in the city'! What do you think THAT means?" she growled, very upset with him. He sighed hard as he pinched between his eyes in tired annoyance.

"Ok, fine. I'm sorry. Alright? I just didn't want them taking you away from me. I don't want to lose you. You're mine and only mine. After all the sh-t I had to put up with that idiot Jim, I've REALLY had it. I'm not going to go through that garbage all over again with these new as-holes!" Drago told her, baring his teeth even though he was in human form.

"Drago. I told you a trillion times... You won't lose me! I love you! And only you! Whether you believe it or not, it's true and that'll never change! I'm so shocked that you'd go that far to say bad things about me to keep me when you don't even have to worry about stuff like that!" she cried, tears welling up.

"Oh no? I don't have to worry?" he asked, his tone sarcastic. Jade was flabbergasted and distraught.

    "Of course not!"

"I want to believe you... But I just can't..." Drago said, his voice quiet and almost sad. He avoided her eyes then. Jade jumped at this chance to find out why he felt this way. She grabbed his bare shoulders and begged him to look at her.

"Why?? Why can't you trust me?! Did Shendu teach you not to? Drago, you don't have to listen to him! He's wrong!" she cried, shaking him. Drago suddenly felt a surge of disgust and rageful hatred flare up in him. His demon side couldn't remain silent any longer.

"You humans nauseate me! Always trying to convince me of your cheap lies! Just die already! All of you!" he shouted, then blinked in surprise as if he couldn't believe he actually said THAT stuff to Jade. It was meant for humans in general, not Jade...even though she too was human.

Jade was terribly stunned, frightened to death. No! Hsi Wu's evil powers were too much for him to withstand. He'd have no hope of changing good if he kept this wicked chi inside of him. She couldn't allow him to get the rest of these powers either. It was for his own good.

"Errgh! I-... I didn't mean that for you... Jade, I'm sorry." he said softly, embarrassed even. Jade hugged him, letting her tears fall. She mustn't become distant from him, especially not now. He needed her support, not more negative emotions.

"It's alright, Drago. I understand... I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have kept on helping Jim when it only made you mad and did no good in the end. I just didn't listen and now I'm paying for it." she said, sniffling against his neck.

"I just wish I knew how to earn your trust..." she sobbed, shaking her head. "Tell me what I have to do... Please... I want you to trust me...!" Drago's evil side instantly scoffed.

'Just so you can play me for a fool when you betray me later?' Drago growled and held his head then, his human side trying to fight back.

'She loves me, she doesn't want to hurt me! I can trust her! She won't betray me...' his human side cried, desperately wanting to have faith in Jade. But his demon side wouldn't let him.

'She's human! Humans are treacherous! Even Mom was, so how can any of them be trusted? They are lowly trash! They NEED to be killed off once and for all! Disgusting loathsome roaches!' his dark side screamed back.

'I still love her anyway, I don't care! I just want to be with her. Whatever the cost may be, I'll pay it!'

"You don't need to do anything, Jade. I...trust you... And yet...I don't. I know it sounds stupid, but... Oh f-ck it! Never mind..." he growled, squeezing his eyes shut and feeling foolish.

How could he get her to understand and accept that half of him trusted her while the other half didn't? He dared not tell her that as soon as he got the Sky demon chi, his hatred for humans was strong once more, stronger even. He needed her to stay willing and she sure wouldn't be if she knew he was feeling more like his old self again.

Of course he could MAKE her accept it, but he didn't want to do that either. He felt so torn and utterly stupid since he couldn't really make up his mind and stick with it.

"It's ok, you can tell me, Drago... Drago?" Jade was concerned by his sudden despondent behavior. He used to be more open with her. Why was he closing up? It had to be that blasted new demon chi power! Drago shook his head, rubbing his temples, hissing.

"I... I'm sorry... I just have a headache. That's all." he lied, not wanting to tell her that he just had another 'Good VS Evil' battle inside his head. It would make him sound nuts and worst of all, weak.

Demons, REAL demons, did not argue with their thoughts. They just made decisions and stuck with them. The end. But he wasn't all demon and being half human, he was always at war with himself.

When would these raging wars end? And which side would win?
