J2: The Deception
Drago didn't have too much trouble finding Jim at Section 13. The idiot was in the break room with Carl, talking about something strange. Drago eavesdropped on their conversation from the hallway just outside the open doorway.
"When we have that big company meeting, I'm going to throw this potion on that green monster. And when his human mask washes off, I'll signal Agent Tang come in to arrest Drago right there and then. And at last, I'll have the proof I need to show up that moron Kingsley. He'll have no choice but to admit that magic is real!" Jim said, sipping some coffee he made himself moments earlier.
Carl seemed to be ridiculously super pleased with his buddy's plan. "That's great, Jim! Brilliant!" he cried like a loon. He wanted Drago to be put away for good so he and his girlfriend would be safe. He had accidentally told Drago where his girlfriend lived when he boasted about her to Drake and Jade.
Jim insisted that Drake was Drago in disguise. He really wanted to see this for himself, the capture and execution of Drago. Jim was keeping a small glass tube of the revealing potion in his pocket.
He would use it if needed since this potion also could burn that monster just the same while changing him back to his true form. Sensing that Drago was near, he stiffened up and Carl noticed.
"What's wrong, Jim?" he asked in a hushed whisper. Drago couldn't hold back his hatred any longer by staying outside the doorway and entered the break room.
Just then Carl noticed Drago, er Drake heading towards the back of the break room where he and Jim were standing. Drago wasted no time grabbing Jim by the shoulders and slamming him up against the counter, knocking over several stacks of Styrofoam cups.
"Stay AWAY from Jade, you as-hole!" Drago growled gruffly. Jim shoved him off roughly and that alone caused Drago to swing his angry fist into the man's face. Jim began punching back immediately.
"Stop it, man! Leave him alone! Stop!" Carl cried, trying to break up the fight. He failed miserably. The two males landed blow after blow on each other, knocking over chairs and tables as they fell against them.
Eventually, their fighting attracted much attention from other co-workers passing by the doorway of the break room. Someone called for Jade to get over there fast.
Soon, Drago was the one winning the fight as he beat Jim mercilessly to the floor. Jim fought to get at the potion in his pocket while Drago pummeled him with raging fists.
Eventually, Jim was able to get a hold of it at last. He yanked it out and broke it against Drago's left arm, soaking his sleeve and getting it mostly on his forearm. The glass didn't have a chance to cut him since the fiery teen's scales returned instantly.
Drago cried out as he felt searing pain caused by the potion's good chi. The fiery teen backed up away from him, holding his arm. He noticed that his left hand turned green and scaly. Curses!
He hid it quickly, but Carl had seen the small transformation. He was convinced beyond any doubt that Drake was indeed Drago. Jim had been right all along!
Jade arrived then, looking over the situation and scolding both Drago and Jim for fighting. She threatened to suspend them if they fought like this again. Fighting against each other was not allowed in the workplace.
Drago complained that Jim had thrown some chemicals on his arm that burned him and he needed treatment. Jim yelled back that Drake had attacked him first. Jade told them to be quiet and called for Missy to help Jim with his injuries.
Jade told Drake to come with her to have a talk in her office. She made the other agents watching return back to their posts immediately. Carl stayed with Jim as they waited for Missy to come.
"Oh, man! You were right, Jim!" he said in a quiet voice. Jim coughed in pain as he struggled to get back to his feet. Drago had really knocked the wind out of him with all that constant hitting. Carl helped his friend sit down in a chair.
"You saw?" he asked, knowing Carl would know what he was talking about. He nodded.
"I sure did! What are we going to do?" he asked, worried. Drago really WAS in Section 13! They were all in danger here!
"I'll tell you later." he answered, having some trouble breathing. Drago had punched him in the chest and throat a lot this time. Without the Arcana to help him heal himself instantly, he would have to put up with this pain.
Jim couldn't use his regular healing magic since everyone would find that strange that he was unhurt after complaining that he was. Plus, he was hoping to gain pity and sympathy from Jade if he was spending most of his time injured in the infirmaries.
Missy came to take Jim away, leaving Carl with his troubled thoughts. Why was his boss allowing a monster to work in Section 13? She had to be brainwashed or under a spell by Drago, just like Jim had said.
Carl decided he would do anything he could to help Jim now. They had to get rid of Drago once and for all...
In her office, Jade checked Drago's left arm and saw a green scaly claw. She pulled up his sleeve, seeing that his arm was also green and scaly. She gave him a confused look.
"Why are you making your arm look like this for?" she asked. Drago yanked his claw back and growled.
"I'm not! That idiot Jim figured out how to make a potion that melts away my disguise!" he hissed in a low voice. Jade grew worried. This was really bad...
"Can you change it back?" she asked, scared for him. He grunted as he tried, but his arm stayed green. He tried again, but nothing happened.
He didn't know how long this potion would last, but he couldn't go around all day hiding his left arm and claw. He grit his teeth in hatred. Curse that idiot! Curse him to Hell!
"D-mn it!" Drago cursed, his fists trembling. Jade thought hard, wondering how to help him. "Don't worry. I'll try to figure out a counter spell for you." she offered.
He sighed irritably. "Yeah, well you better figure out one fast because I heard that moron say to his dumb buddy that he's going to reveal me right in front of everyone during the next company meeting..."
Jade's eyes widened as she was filled with dread. How could Jim go that far? Well, then again, she should have expected him to think up something like this. She went to her desk and pulled out several rolls of gauze.
"Here, wrap this stuff around your arm. Cover up your hand too." she said, giving him a roll and unraveling one herself. She helped him wind it over his arm and claw, hiding his scales nicely. While they worked, Drago popped a question.
"Why haven't you told me about that moron harassing you?" he asked in a irritable tone. Jade looked at him, surprised.
"What are you talking about? I told you before what happened at the grocery store. You already know about it." she answered. Drago grit his teeth in annoyance.
Why wouldn't she tell him everything? She expected such of him, yet she wasn't doing the same. He felt like she might be hiding something.
Maybe she was secretly seeing Jim and covering it with fake entries of harassment in her diary to throw him off track! That had to be it! He couldn't figure out why else she would not tell him about all the times Jim bothered her.
The only other reason he really could decipher would be that she didn't want Drago to kill him... Meaning she still had feelings for Jim even now!
She was just very good at hiding those feelings currently. Jealousy and rage blinded the fiery teen from hearing his heart telling him that never could be so.
"No... I'm talking about all the other times that as-hole bothered you and you never told me!" he growled, getting very edgy. Jade shook her head, getting a bad feeling from his sudden surly attitude towards her.
"I didn't want to worry you. You'd only get upset and attack Jim, then you'd get into trouble. That's why I didn't tell you about all the times he bothered me." she explained, but sadly Drago didn't buy it.
"Don't lie to me! The real reason why you didn't want to tell me is because he really wasn't harassing you at all..." Drago said, his tone accusing her of the same old allegation. That she was fooling around with Jim.
"What?" Jade cried, shocked and getting very upset. Was he actually accusing her of that? Again? What was wrong with him?? Jim WAS harassing her! She had to set him straight. Again.
Before she had a chance to pick that same old bone with him once more, he had another fast heated reply for her.
"Forget it! Just forget it! Never mind!" Drago scowled, turning away from her, growling like his true self. He went out the door and was gone. Stunned, Jade stood there a moment and then raced after him.
But she couldn't find him. She searched everywhere in Section 13, but he was gone. She figured he would come back sooner or later.
If not at Section 13, then he would be at her house eventually. She would wait for him. She could tell he needed time to cool down as usual.
Blocks away, Drago was traveling on rooftops using his dragon speed. He had to get away before his anger made him say anything stupid again. He didn't want to fight with her, especially not about that idiot Jim.
Once he was far away enough, he paused on the edge of a building. He looked down at the streets below and then at the full moon above him. He had done away with his human disguise and threw off the gauze. He felt a little less angry and sighed to himself.
He wanted to go back to Jade and apologize to her. With that hateful distrust and jealousy diminishing, he knew that his assumption was way off base. Jade would never go back to Jim, she loved only Drago. If only he could trust her fully...
NO! Absolutely not! She was human, just like his mother. Despite Shendu telling him not to, Drago trusted his mother and her love, until she 'betrayed' him by not accepting him as her lover. He could not trust her kind, never again.
His father was right all along. Trust a human and you will be burned... That was why he couldn't trust Jade all the way. He wanted to, but he couldn't one hundred percent. He didn't want to go through another painful breach of faith.
Drago's older self had warned him that Jade would betray him and although he wanted to believe that his adult self was wrong, if he was right, then his pain would only be half as strong. He trusted Jade fifty percent and that was it... For now.
A giggle made him turn around with his claws out. Tam sauntered out of the shadows, still giggling. Drago dropped his claws and rolled his eyes. Not her again!
"So far from home?" she asked seductively. She trailed her fingers over his horned chin, smiling like she knew some fantastic secret. She tried reaching for his groin as she pressed up against him. He pushed her away.
"Get lost, Tam! I have better things to do." Drago growled at her, turning to leave.
"Really? That's too bad..." Tam said strangely and added quickly. "So do I... Like telling Mikey that you secretly are working for Section 13..."
Drago forced himself not to act like she was correct with that statement. He laughed long and loud, hoping to trick her into thinking she had false info on him.
"Oh, come on now! Me? Working for Section 13? That's a good one!" he said, shaking his head and chuckling like she had said a great joke.
She wagged a finger at him. "Now, now! Mikey doesn't like new recruits lying to him about working with the cops. I'm gonna tell him about you being a secret agent, unless you give me a good enough reason not to..."
Tam wandered over to him again, placing her hands on his shoulders. She rubbed his rugged scales lewdly and leaned her head against him.
"I know you're trying to bust up Mikey's operations, Draggy." she purred, tracing circles on his chest with her finger. "And that's bad business for me. I can't let you take down Mikey. You see, he's my meal ticket."
Suddenly without warning, she kissed him hard and fast. Drago shoved her off, but it was too late. Jim was on a rooftop across the street, watching Tam doing her part of the deal.
He took plenty of pictures of Tam kissing Drago with a high tech camera that Kepler's students made for getting photo evidence against crooks from a distance.
The quality was impeccable, clear and crisp. You could even see the details of the monster's scales and each strand of Tam's wig, er hair! He had three wonderful pictures to show Jade...
Jim couldn't wait another second to show these to her. He raced back to Section 13 to do just that. Meanwhile, Drago sneered at Tam, growling meanly.
"You sure h-ll got a lot of nerve, slut!" Drago hissed, spitting more and then wiping his mouth off. "First you accuse me working with an organization that wants me dead and then you f-cking kiss me! D-mn, you're whack!"
Tam began to doubt if anything that Iso guy said was right after all. Drago couldn't be working with the cops, could he?
"Steer clear of this dragon, Tam. You'll get burned. Severely." the fiery teen said in a low threatening tone. Tam watched him jump off the rooftop and disappear into the night.
Confused on whether or not to believe the Iso guy, she went back to her duties. She had to find at least ten more new recruits for her department otherwise she would lose out on her monthly bonus check. Sighing, she left the rooftop and went looking for new girls.
Jim wasted no time showing Jade the photos he obtained from the digital camera by printing them out and taking them to her. He eagerly waited for her anger on what she saw in the photos.
But to his shock, she deemed them invalid. Jim was flabbergasted and he grew angry instead. He couldn't understand why she didn't believe what she saw in the photos.
They clearly showed Drago kissing another woman! Why wasn't Jade flipping out over this? Jim was trying any ploy he could to get Jade to break up with Drago. Apparently, this one wasn't working like he thought it would.
"How can you not believe what you see here?" Jim cried, upset. "It's obvious he doesn't care about you! He's fooling around with other women! These photos are the proof!"
Jade gave him a hard look. "Proof? All these photos prove is the revulsion on Drago's face when he's being kissed by some slut, that's all these photos prove! He doesn't look like he wanted to kiss whoever this is here. You can see he's disgusted, Jim."
"I don't care! He's not to be trusted!" Jim shot back, defeated. Jade shook her head and glared at him.
"Yeah, well, neither are you! Instead of doing the assignments I've given you, you're going off spying on Drago! That's my job, not yours!" Jade said angrily.
Jim narrowed his eyes and grit his teeth. "Like h-ll it is! You and I BOTH know you're not spying on that monster! You're screwing around with him when you should be with me!"
He got closer to her and continued on in a stiff low voice. "I can ruin you, Jade... Don't make me do it!"
Jade felt fear overtake her when Jim came close to her, his dark chi chilling her to the bone. But then she pushed that fear aside and narrowed her eyes back at him.
"Jim, knock it off. I'm not going to tolerate your threats. I told you that if you keep this up, I'll be forced to fire you. Do you want that?" she asked, hands on her hips.
In an instant, Jim grabbed her and held her to himself as he kissed her on the lips passionately. She pushed against him, desperately trying to get him off. She worried that if Drago smelled Jim's scent on her, he would think she was cheating on him.
Although she knew their love was pure and true, something like this could easily set understandable renewed doubt into Drago's mind.
She didn't want to give him any reasons to think that she wanted to 'fool' around Jim. The trust Drago had for Jade was poor at best.
Once he pulled away to get some air, she slapped him in the face hard. He finally let her go and she took plenty of steps backwards away from him.
"I want you, Jade... That's all I want..." Jim said, a crazed look in his eyes. Jade didn't reply and pressed a button on her desk phone asking for security. Thankfully, that helped persuade Jim to leave.
He was long gone when the security guards hurried in her office. Just the same, Jade was shaking from shock and worry, not to mention fear.
Drago would be sure to smell Jim's scent and with the way he was acting before in Section 13 that night, she feared he wouldn't believe that she didn't want Jim to kiss her.
But she would still explain it to him anyway. She just hoped he would keep his cool and not blow this out of proportion. She frowned. Their love was true, he should believe her side of the story! It was the truth after all.
When a week went by, Drago decided it was high time to visit Jade again. Things were going well for him with his new 'job'. Marlone paid him and paid him well for all his killing sprees. Doing what you love and getting paid handsomely for it was beyond wonderful.
Terry and Butch were seemingly his new friends, worthy to keep alive and not eat (like Jade). They respected him, though it was not the same respect he got for being a dangerous, vicious murderer.
They enjoyed his company and respected him as a person, out of true companionship, not fear. It was how Jade was to him, she also loved his presence. She wanted to be around him and that was a wonderful feeling to Drago.
Experiencing that with others was great and pleasing. It made him feel accepted and that he belonged. At first he was annoyed to find that his mother's people were the ones who have taken him in since he had hoped his father's kind would be the ones to do that.
But any acceptance had its worthwhile weight in gold, so Drago reveled this true acceptance from a select few from his mother's kin. Another great thing was that Tam was keeping her distance lately. Good!
Ice, Cobra, and Fist showed up daily at the night clubs Marlone owned, places where Drago went to do some 'beat-down' jobs on non-paying customers.
Ice and his buddies were still sore at Drago for butchering Liter. But they didn't dwell on it once Drago got introduced them to a new dealer just as good as Liter.
He was one of Marlone's lower generals, named Sweller. He gave decent enough all-night parties at Marlone's most popular night club called the 'Wet Lilypad'.
Since Ice and crew knew Drago so well, they got to go to the Lilypad for free when others had to pay to get in. The strippers were fairly pleasant to look at and the alcohol was always readily available to them for low prices.
The best part was that the strippers made themselves wet with an assortment of liquids in 'honor' of the night club's name. With hot dancers soaking wet, it was easy to see all their sexy hidden details since their outfits were 'paper-thin'.
Watching a girl drench herself with fruit punch, Drago ignored Ice as he babbled on about something while being stone drunk. Cobra and Fist were elsewhere in the club, but Drago could care less where they were.
"Ands I says to the yo whazzit bastard, you gots to be d-mned to hold onto whacked f-cking h-ll, yo's!" Ice rambled, taking another long swig from his beer bottle.
"Yeah, whatever." Drago replied, watching the crowd coming in. He was supposed to beat the crud out of a non-paying customer of Marlone's. His name was Keith and he was overdue on his bills for the drugs and guns he bought for his small gang.
He hoped that idiot would come soon. He couldn't stand much more of Ice's incomprehensible gibberish. It was distracting him from his job and viewing entertainment of the stripper.
She bucked her hips against a pole while her nipples could be well seen through her wet thin tube top. She ran a long vibrator all over herself, pressing it against her groin hard. She moaned loudly in delight as she teased herself with it.
Suddenly, the stripper's hot squealing reminded Drago to get another body paint kit for Jade. It had been a while since he had covered Jade with something sweet and creamy.
She seemed to like the last kit he had used on her. It was called a 'Chocolate Cream Dream' kit. He would definitely buy another soon. He enjoyed licking the smooth candy off her curvy body while she writhed in deep pleasure.
Drago felt himself grow incredibly hard just remembering the way Jade had squealed and carried on the last time he licked her vaginal region clean. The fluffy brown cream was sweet, but her white bubbly nectar was even sweeter...
"D-mn, I'm talkin' to yous, man! Dee! Hello?!" Ice whacked Drago's arm to get his attention. The fiery teen snarled at him.
"WHAT?!"
"I wanna say... Yous one d-mn d-mn D-MN...ugly motherf-cker... Yo!" Ice said, then passed out on the table. Drago rolled his eyes. What a moron!
It was obvious why he'd never drink and get stupid like this. Besides, the fire inside him would make him combust and ultimately kill him.
He wasn't fire-proof completely everywhere inside. So, drinking was out. It just wasn't smart and it was deadly, especially for Drago.
"Idiot." Drago hissed, then went back to scanning the crowd. Finally! He saw Keith and two of his best bodyguards with him. Heading over to them, Drago got their attention easily by grabbing Keith and slamming him up against the wall.
Drago's deadly reputation amongst the city's underbelly was well known by now. Keith immediately began to make excuses to why he didn't pay yet, but he would very soon.
"Bullsh-t! You've said that everytime I have to come after you, Keith! This is the third time! Pay up! This is the LAST time I'm going to ask you..." Drago snarled, holding the man high at arm's length to the wall.
Keith nodded his head funny at his goons to help him, but Drago noticed and threw Keith at the bodyguards, knocking them all down. People nearby cried out in surprise and shock as they scrambled to get out of the way.
Drago cracked his knuckles and lashed his tail. "Alright, Keith. We'll have to do this the hard way... Again!" he said, growling demonically.
Spooked and remembering his last brief, yet frightening beating by the fiery teen, he waved his hands frantically. Drago had to keep all his beat-downs short otherwise he would kill his victims. He had to appease Marlone by 'obeying' him well and not kill when he was told to do daily beatings.
"No no! No wait! I'll pay! I'll pay!" he cried, then he snapped his fingers. One of his goons produced a briefcase filled with money. Drago took it and inspected the cash, counting it by listening to the bills fanning through his claws.
Keith was hoping to get some more time to pay or maybe weasel out of paying, but he reluctantly came to terms that he would have to pay eventually. And he didn't think he could stand another beat-down by Drago aftet barely surviving the last one.
"Well, you just made my night more boring, but you've paid so you won't be seeing me again. Unless you stop paying your bills again that is." Drago said, disappearing into the crowd with the briefcase of money.
Drago dropped off the money to Marlone, but only after he marked the bills and collected all the serial numbers off them with a hand-held scanner.
It was lightning fast and had an vast memory. He would give this info to Section 13 and then they would know when Marlone spent the cash and what he spent the money on.
Marlone actually ran out of people he wanted Drago to kill and that left the fiery teen with nothing to do for rest of the night. The night was clear and cold, but it was young.
Knowing that Jade got out of work around seven or so, he went to go meet her. Travelling through back alleys, Drago made good time getting close to Section 13. Careful to be in human disguise first, he transformed before he got near there.
He was only a block away when he was stopped by someone in a dark deserted alley. Then he realized who it was and attacked him instantly. Shendu, in human disguise, evaded his son's frontal assault and pointed a finger at him.
"Stupid boy! Dare you attack me so foolishly?" he hissed at him, hoping he would try to attack again. He couldn't wait to strangle him...
"F-ck it, Dad! I've had ENOUGH of your sh-t!" Drago hissed back, throwing punches. "You tried to kill Jade!" His evil parent blocked his hits with ease, agitating the teen immensely.
"With good cause. She has ruined you, my son." Shendu said, acting as if Drago was simply a silly fool. The fiery teen hissed hatefully, glaring at his father.
"I'm not 'ruined'!" he cried defiantly, very annoyed. Shendu circled his son like a shark, staring him down. Drago didn't back down and gave him the evil eye. A quick slap to his face nearly made the teen fall as the attack sent him into a brick wall.
"IDIOT! You ARE ruined! Worthless human trash! That's all you've become now!" Shendu snapped angrily. Quick as lightning, he reached out and grabbed his son's hair.
Drago cried out as Shendu's nails dug into his scalp. Whenever the Fire demon gave a beating, he never showed any mercy. Not to his own kind and especially not to humans. Of course, his own son was never exempt from his terrible intense wrath.
Plenty of frantic hard yanking and pulling freed the teen from his abusive parent's grasp. Shendu wasted no time sinking his powerful fist into Drago's gut, forcing him to drop to the ground.
Coughing in pain, Drago squeezed his eyes shut. His hatred for Shendu grew immensely stronger. How he HATED him and how he always could smash him down into a pitiful heap. Shendu kicked him savagely then, hitting the teen in the face and shoulder.
Repetitively Drago was slammed against the brick wall again and again. Blood littered the ground under the teen as his cries of agony filled Shendu with evil joy. This was a punishment his son needed to wake him up...
Finally the kicking stopped and Drago struggled to get back on his feet. Shendu sneered at this pathetic display of recovery and shot his right arm out to his son's neck.
Drago's screaming was cut short as Shendu strangled him for a few moments before throwing him back to the ground again. This time he stamped his foot on top of his skull, causing Drago to yell out again.
"Do you like being a human, my son?" Shendu asked, increasing the pressure on the teen's head. His father's words cut through the teen like a million icy knives.
Drago tried to push his terrible parent's foot off his head, but it was no use. Shendu was a lot stronger than he was... At least for now...
"NO! I HATE HUMANS! I HATE THEM!!!" Drago yelled, struggling to free his pounding head. Shendu grinned, liking this discipline he was giving his son. Hopefully he could set his dumb kid straight back to evil with some painful persuasion.
"I think you enjoy being a human, Drago. You enjoy being weak and foolish." Shendu said, filling the teen with ungodly amounts of rage and disgust. How dare he say such a thing?! He hated being weak and anything associated with it!
"NO!!! H-LL NO! I HATE WEAKNESS! I HATE HUMANS, D-MN IT!" he screamed, growling and dropped his human disguise. At last, he had some chance of freeing his head now.
Drago's claws pried Shendu's foot from the teen's head and he threw him off. Shendu did not fall backwards, but instead he backed up gracefully without a stumble or any loss of balance. Back at his full and true power, Drago was able to heal himself quickly.
He lunged at Shendu, snarling. Even though the Fire demon was still in human disguise himself, he had no weaknesses like Drago did in that department. He fought with his son for a while, noticing that Drago's fighting skills were still brutal and vicious.
At least that stupid kid still had the fierce demonic fight left in him. Shendu had to admit that his son wasn't as ruined as he first worried about. But could he still kill like a demon? He decided to test him.
Knocking the teen aside and shoving him up against a wall, Shendu roughly held him there. "LET ME GO! D-MN YOU! I HAVE TO KILL YOU!!!" Drago shrieked, struggling to get free.
Shendu rolled his eyes. What a stupid brat! He knew better than that. Shendu couldn't be killed, he was an Immortal! Idiotic kid. What would be the next stupid human thing to come from his foolish mouth?
"DRAGO, BE SILENT!" Shendu shouted, his mighty vocals striking and dominant. Drago glared at him, wondering what new trick his parent was up to.
Whenever Shendu yelled at him like that, Drago made himself listen since the last time he didn't, he was in a coma for several weeks. Meechi begged him not to challenge Shendu, for his own safety. She didn't want to lose him and Drago didn't want to die either...
"I admit, I was hasty to judge you ruined and worthless. I want to believe that you are what I trained you to be..." Shendu said, then paused for effect. "A demon."
Shendu didn't like the boy's testy short glares and decided it was time to whip him back to demonic shape before he was truly ruined beyond repair.
"Show me that there is no doubt that you are a demon, my son! Make the streets run red with rivers of human blood! Kill them! Kill every single last one of those d-mned ugly cretins! Prove to me that you ARE a demon!" Shendu said, shaking him.
Drago growled inhumanly, a pleasing thing for his evil parent to hear. So he went on, hoping to put Drago into another crazed demonic killing mind set. It was the only way to 'correct' him.
"Hunt with me..." Shendu hissed, his voice low and snake-like. The eager gleam of bloodlust in the teen's eyes made Shendu hopeful about his kid. Maybe, just maybe he still had redeemable qualities and was still worthwhile to use later...
