J2: The Deception

Ten days went by before Jade saw her gecko-butt again. He was waiting inside her house on the stairs. Without words, they greeted each other emotionally by hugging and kissing.

Jade was staying clear of Jim ever since he forced a kiss on her in her office those many days ago, but Jim continued to harass her anyway. With Drago scarce, Jim felt like he could get away with doing more of what he wanted.

Whenever they were alone, even for a moment, Jim would grab her and kiss her like they were crazed lovers. Jade couldn't make him stop since he threatened to expose the real truth about her relationship with Drago to everyone at Section 13.

He claimed he had the proof and he would ruin her utterly. Without Drago and Section 13 in her life, she would truly be ruined forever. She needed her job at Section 13 so she could remain independent and live her life her way in her own house.

And she needed Drago, she couldn't bear to lose him. Without him, she would be torn apart and lose a part of herself. She was one with him and she never wanted to separated from him.

Trapped, Jade just took the abuse and washed her mouth out after each attack. The last smooch attack was two days ago.

Jade was fairly sure Jim's scent had faded off her by now. But her worries were renewed when Drago pulled away suddenly and began sniffing her strangely.

Drago emitted a snarling growl, baring his teeth and lashing his tail. He looked her in the eyes and grasped her arms tight.

"He bothered you again, didn't he?" Drago said, his eyes rageful. Jade felt weird as he looked into her eyes. Her mind felt like it was being...invaded. She turned away, the eerie feeling dwindling away.

Drago almost could see what happened to her with Jim, but she hid her eyes from him. He was better at reading through the eyes now, thanks to Shendu teaching him days before. He HAD to see what Jim did to her.

    "Look at me."

"I... I don't... It..." Jade started and tried again. "What were you doing? My brain felt really weird when you looked at me like you just did..."

"I'm was trying read your thoughts. If you just let me, it won't feel strange. I don't want to hurt you, Jade. But if you don't let me 'read' you, it will..." Drago told her, causing her to fret. He never did this sort of thing before, at least not on a level like this!

She wondered where he was for the last ten days and what he was doing... Where did he learn this new skill from?

"Don't hide anything from me, Jade. I have to know what that as-hole did to you. Please." he said, letting her right arm go to stroke her face lovingly. He held her chin and made her face him again.

After not seeing her for almost two weeks, Drago ached for her. Going on a grand hunt and killing transients with his father was fun and all, but Drago knew he couldn't keep away from Jade for long. He needed her...

"Can't I just tell you?" she asked, avoiding his eyes. It was hard to explain, but along with the fuzzy strangeness in her mind came the sense of dread...

Like evil chi was trying to get at her soul. It was the same feeling she got when Hsi Wu tried to seduce her in Hell and almost took her soul...

No, she dared not to think it. Drago didn't want her soul... Did he? She decided he couldn't if he wanted to keep her alive. But what if he wanted a zombie lover instead? That was just too crazy to even consider!

She trusted him and she had to be loyal to him. She was sure he wouldn't try to hurt her for real. Not anymore. Even with the extra demon chi, he still loved her no matter what.

"I mean, I trust you and everything, but I felt...like you were trying to get my soul." she replied, feeling uneasy saying such a thing to him. Would he be offended?

"Don't worry, Jade. I won't do that." he said, bringing her close to kiss her once more. The way he said it reassured her.

"But you still could, right? I mean, that 'mind reading through the eyes' thing lets you do that?" she asked, making sure.

"Yes, it does. But I'd never take your soul, Jade. I love you. You know that." he said, getting annoyed since he thought she didn't want him to read her mind so he wouldn't see evidence of her fooling around with Jim, not that she was scared about him taking her soul...

"And I love you back. Plus...I trust you, so how do I let you read my mind so it doesn't hurt?" she asked, feeling this was a bad thing to let him do anyway. She trusted him, but a lot less since he got those blasted wings...

"Just think of nothing and don't resist when you feel any sensations. Then it won't hurt at all." he said, waiting for her to allow him to read her mind through her eyes. If she did without any rejections, then he'd be more convinced that she wasn't hiding anything from him.

Jade sighed hard, then looked up at him. He searched her soul and thoughts, looking for any hint of fondness for Jim. He discovered that her cherished thoughts were of hardcore devotion and love for the fiery teen and no one else, not even Hsi Wu. That comforted him and made him feel less distrusting of her.

The fear she had for him was still there, but it seemed to be forgotten due to their love for each other. As much as he felt bad for making her so scared of him, he enjoyed it too. His demonic blood was very pleased, it fed the dark evil side of him.

He looked on, seeing the times Jim harassed Jade. At parking lots, in stores, at work, on the street, and even at the front door of her house! Seeing Jim forcing, not one or some, but MANY kisses on Jade made the fiery teen fume with great burning ire.

Jade tried not to worry about the warnings her brain gave her as Drago invaded her mind while reading. She ignored them the best she could for as long as she could, but after a while, she couldn't take it anymore. It hurt even though she was letting him look.

In a cry of anguish, she tore her eyes away and shut them, turning her head to the left. As strange as it sounded, it was like her mind was being raped!

Maybe she shouldn't have let him 'read' her like that. Maybe it would open doors for evil to enter with ease? She had to ask Uncle about it. There was a lingering pain afterwards that wouldn't leave her.

"Drago, that hurts! You said it wouldn't!" she cried, shaking her head. The pain seemed to increase at every passing moment. This side effect was stronger than the norm due to Drago's lengthy invasion.

"Well... There is some discomfort after a long reading." he admitted. Jade clutched the sides of her head and expressed her agony with anger. The evil from him had leaked into her, spreading sinister darkness throughout her good chi, cutting and searing her along the way.

"Some?! This hurts like crazy!" she shouted, glancing up at him with narrowed eyes then bent over groaning in distress. Drago yanked her back into a standing position and held both sides of her head with his claws.

He spoke several incomprehensible incantations, soothing her upset 'raped' mind and calming it quickly. Jade breathed easier, collapsing against him in relief.

He held her close, kissing the top of her head while stroking her head. "I'm sorry that it hurt so much, Jade..." he said softly. But he figured she would feel that pain anyway.

Due to the Sky demon chi inside him, it enhanced his own black chi and there was no way to stop it from getting inside Jade when he read her mind like that.

Light readings might not deliver such pain afterwards, but a strong deep reading surely would. It was like he was in her mind and he wasn't exactly a saint, so her good chi would get harmed from his dark chi effortlessly. Especially since she made her defenses stay down, it was incredibly easy for his evilness to...'eat' her good chi.

"It's ok..." she said, hiding her face into his chest. His claws caressed her back lovingly. Scenes he saw from Jade's mind made him grit his teeth hard.

How DARE that maggot touch his fiancée so many times! How DARE he bother her like how he did! How DARE he still be alive!

"And I'm sorry that as-hole harassed you so much..." Drago said in a slow angry manner, like he was going to do something about it. Jade sensed the underlining wrath in his words and looked up at him, though not into his eyes.

"Please Drago, don't kill him. I don't want you to get into trouble!" she cried, almost begging. Growling, he avoided her eyes too and let her go. He walked away to the living room. She watched him drop down onto her couch with an exasperated sigh.

She went to him and sat next to him. "I guess you already know after seeing my thoughts, but Jim tried to convince me that you were cheating on me."

"That as-hole really is a bigger as-hole than I first thought." Drago hissed, flexing his claws over the left armrest of the couch. Jade cautiously removed his shredding claw from the fabric, although it was too late. The armrest was ruined.

"I'm glad you didn't fall for his bullsh-t." he added with a smile. Jade smiled back, her eyes shining with love for him.

Out of reflex, she looked into his eyes to show this fondness and then stopped. She feared that that pain would return by gazing into his eyes again.

"It's alright, Jade. I'm not reading your mind anymore, don't worry." he said, reassuring her somewhat. Gingerly, she looked into his eyes. Nothing bad happened, no pain came to haunt her.

All she saw was great love and affection in his eyes, cheering up her worried hurting mind. He suggested that they go to the theaters then. Those new movies they saw previews of from the rented DVD horror flicks were now playing.

Jade beamed all the way the movie house. At last, she was enjoying some quality time with her sweet gecko-butt. They got to watch Death by Flight 2 first, which was a worthwhile movie to see.

The sound was deafening and booming. The action was nonstop and the popcorn was super buttery. This was much more fun to see than renting it on DVD.

The co-pilot was really an evil wizard out to destroy the people working at the airport he had a grudge against. He unleashed his wolf beast on his enemies. But in the end, the beast ate him instead.

The wolf beast went on a rampage afterwards, killing and eating people like crazy. Jade was reminded of Drago's savagery as she watched that beast killing a group of people lost in the woods.

The gore and blood from the sequel of Death by Flight actually got a less negative review from Drago this time as they left the movie theater. He said he finally got to see some blood this time around and it didn't look so fake.

Next, Drago took her to Quarter Roses, a place that he had taken her to many times as Drake. Of course, he was in human disguise when they entered the restaurant.

Ordering the usual, the lovers sat across from each other at the small round table. Drago reached out and took Jade's hands into his. He kissed the tops of her hands and held them tightly.

Jade blushed happily. He always knew how to make the atmosphere romantic fast with a few fond touches and kisses here and there. It was another thing she adored about him next to his fun adventurous manner and playful humor.

"Thanks for taking me out, Drake." Jade said, careful to use his fake human name while Drago was in disguise. He matched her smiles with handsome ones of his own.

"Hey, it's long overdue. I wanted to take you on dates long before, it's just..." Drago paused, not wanting to remind her of her so-called 'mission' to remove the demon chi within him. He turned his face away, his eyes closed.

"It's just what?" Jade asked, not liking his sudden despondent expression. He opened his eyes and looked at her.

"Forget it. I'll tell you later. Let's just enjoy tonight with us together."

The food arrived, so Jade had to choice at that point, but to wait until later. She was hungry besides and didn't have time for talking as she filled her stomach.

When they were leaving the restaurant, a man chased after them. He was followed by a woman and a bunch of kids. Confused, the couple stopped and the man hugged Jade much to Drago's irritation.

    "Hola!"

Jade couldn't believe it! This was Paco!

"Paco! Wow! How are you doing?" Jade cried, happy to see him. Although she found him often annoying when they were kids, she liked him alright as a friend. She hadn't seen him since they were kids too. She always wondered what happened to him.

"Seeing the sights with my familia. This is my esposa, Perla and these are my children. Juana my oldest." Paco said as a teenaged girl stepped forward. She seemed afraid of Drago and kept her distance. She said hello and picked up her little sister, Luisa.

"That's my youngest daughter, Luisa." Paco said proudly. Jade went up to his daughters and asked Luisa how old she was. The child said she was almost five. Jade praised both girls on their beauty. Perla thanked her, her manner very friendly and warm. Jade liked them.

"And my boys, Eliseo, Fidel, and Eloy." Paco added, two of his older sons paid their respects. But Eloy was making some music with a pair of castanets.

Paco scolded his youngest son and told him to put those things away. They were his favorite musical instruments and had given them to Eloy, yet he didn't like how careless he was with them.

Now wasn't a time to play any music, Paco wanted his son to be respectful and to say hello to Jade. Eloy put the castanets away and irritably obeyed.

He wasn't interested in meeting any friends of his father's. He wanted to go to his friend's party, but his parents stopped him. An all night party was what he always wanted to go to since most of his friends got to.

But he never got to though. His parents were against all night parties, especially ones that had drinking and drugs involved.

Eloy was tired of this 'overprotection' and wanted to have fun with his friends, at least once! Instead he was stuck going to family-friendly places with his parents and siblings. It just wasn't fair!

Drago was getting really bored with all these introductions until Eloy revealed those castanets. Even though it was for a moment, he sensed the Thunder demon chi coming from them.

The strange thing was the power seemed weaker, not as strong in scent as the Sky demon chi...

With a sinking feeling, Drago realized that meant the Thunder demon chi was leaking out of the castanets faster than the Sky demon chi had in the flute.

Maybe since Paco and his son had handled it so much, the demon chi was getting 'rubbed off' in a way, getting wasted away to nothing.

Drago knew he had to get at those castanets, but how? He couldn't tackle the kid to the ground and take them from him. The parents were right there, not to mention Jade. No, he would have to wait to take those castanets some other way.

The fiery teen decided to find out where Paco's family lived, so he could 'borrow' the castanets and drain them of the Thunder demon chi. He would do all this without Jade ever finding out too.

She would never let him get another demon chi when she made such a fuss over him getting the Sky demon chi. Drago was not turning back on this one. That Thunder demon chi would be his sooner or later.

The sooner the better since the demon chi was slowly losing it's strength being around humans too much. The flute was buried under sand, keeping it 'asleep' and intact with the Sky demon chi.

After saying hello to Jade, Eloy seethed in silence. His dislike for his father's family friendly outings were really getting to him. He hated how he was missing out on yet another cool party at Sweller's place.

He tried to express his desire to leave, but Paco immediately laid down the law. He reprimanded his son to be respectful and to be patient as well.

Paco knew how Eloy didn't like going places with his family, thinking it made him 'uncool'. He wasn't going to give his son an inch to complain this time.

Last time he did, Eloy went on and on about how unfairness his parents were. Perla was wise to her son too. She joined Paco on lecturing him to behave. Eloy felt like they were 'ganging' up on him. It was worse now since there was an audience.

'No fair! I can't do anything fun! I can't go to parties with my friends! I can't get tattoos, piercings, or anything! Well, I'm going to change that... I'm going to Sweller's tonight without Dad and Mom knowing, that's what I'll do! They can't treat me like a baby forever...' Eloy thought to himself.

Once the parents got Eloy to be silent, Jade and Paco exchanged some small talk until Drago couldn't stand it any longer. He had better things to do than listen to humans talk about nonsense.

"Jade, I think we better go. It's late." Drago said, cutting in suddenly. Jade looked at her watch and nodded at him. She smiled at Paco and gave him another quick hug. She gave a hug to Perla too.

"Well, it was great seeing you again after all these years, Paco. To think, you and Perla have so many children. Beautiful ones too." Jade praised, still smiling.

"Gracias, Jade. Sí, Perla and I are truly blessed to have these lovely children. You can come over sometime if you like." Paco said.

"Sí, sí! I really need someone to baby-sit my little Luisa. It is so hard to find people who you can trust, you know? The last ones I hired all ran off, leaving my Luisa all alone locked in the kitchen! I can not bear to have anything happen to her." Perla said, shaking her head.

"Do you know of anyone who could baby-sit for us, Jade?" Paco asked, somewhat desperate. It had been months since he and Perla had a night to themselves without the kids.

They would like to have some time to themselves, but they did not trust the local babysitters since they had let them down.

"Sure, I know some really good babysitters. I'd do it, but with my job and all, I hardly have time to myself. Don't worry though, I'll get you hooked up with the right people. It's no problem. Oh, by the way, this is Drake. He's my novio." Jade said, finally getting a chance to introduce Drago to them.

She was glad she remembered some Spanish after all this time. She had forgotten a lot of her Chinese, it was amazing she could recall some Spanish.

"Ah, well, you are quite the lucky man, Drake." Paco said, shaking hands with him. Drago pretended to be friendly. No need to be rude and get these new people to dislike him right off the bat.

"Thanks. I think so too." Drago said, smiling. They started to leave, but not before Paco gave Jade some directions to his home. Drago memorized this information quickly. He would need it later to get those castanets.

As they walked back to Jade's house, Drago thought up an excuse to escape for a bit so he could get the castanets in some way. He couldn't wait any longer.

"Jade, I'm going to look for Marlone again. Don't worry about me. I'll see you later." he said, giving her a kiss. They hugged and held each other close, snuggling. Jade bought that and nodded.

"Come back soon. I miss you." she purred, bringing his face close to dab with more kisses. Terribly torn, he wished he could stay with her longer.

But the Thunder demon chi was growing weaker every moment those castanets were in that Eloy boy's hands. He had to go. He clutched her tightly, pouring his hardcore passion upon her lips and down her throat.

"I miss you too. I'll come back real soon. Don't worry, I don't plan staying away from you for long, my little miss." Drago purred back, squeezing her hungrily.

"I got us another kit and this time, you can 'paint' me. How's that sound?" he whispered sexily in her ear before pressing his lips to it. Excited shivers ran down Jade's spine.

"Sounds perfect, Scaly." she whispered back, letting him suck and lick her neck perversely. He couldn't hold back his feelings for her and let loose for a bit. His confident passion overwhelmed her easily. How she ached for him...

They kissed each other passionately for several moments. The two lovers shared another wild kiss before Drago reluctantly pulled free and left. The sooner he went, the sooner he could go back to her...

Eloy snuck out of his bedroom when he was sure everyone was asleep. Biff Sweller's place always had all night parties and the night was still young, so he still could have some fun tonight.

He went to Sweller's house, but no one was there. Disappointed, Eloy left and began to wander around in hopes to run into Sweller or his friends somehow.

After wasting a lot of time, he decided to head home. Maybe he'll have better luck next time. As he walked through an empty lot near an abandoned building, someone in a trench coat was walking to him. It was dark and Eloy didn't see that this someone was actually Drago.

The fiery teen had been following Eloy ever since the kid left the safety of Paco's house. He had been waiting for the right time to approach him. It looked like Eloy was heading back home, so Drago had to make his move to get those castanets.

"Hey, do you know where Sweller is?" Eloy asked, getting hopeful suddenly. Maybe this guy knew where Biff was. Maybe he could party afterall!

"Sure. I know where he is." Drago said, grinning. This was going to be easier than he thought. "But I don't give out info for free..."

Eloy understood and reached into his pocket for his wallet. Money wasn't as important as partying all night to Eloy. He would gladly pay. "Oh, ok! No problem. Here." Eloy held out some cash.

"I rather have something else... Like those castanets you've got in your pocket." Drago said, wanting to knock the kid down and yank those musical instruments away from him. He couldn't wait much longer for more demon chi power...

Stunned, Eloy wondered how this guy knew he had castanets. Plus, why would he want them? Doing away with these questions, the kid bit his lip.

The castanets were something like an heirloom from his father. He shouldn't give them away. But he did want to party with his friends, so he could be cool and be accepted into their group...

"O-ok, sure." Eloy stammered, pulling the castanets out. Drago held his claw out eagerly. The teen dropped them into his waiting claw and watched them disappear into the trench coat.

"Whenever Sweller's not home, he's at the Lilypad. The Wet Lilypad." Drago said, giving really vague directions on how to get there. Eloy wanted to go immediately and he was on his way quickly.

Drago left as well and headed for the Northeastern Woods immediately. Once there, he held the castanets in his claw. He let the demonic chi flow into him and it was a rush of energy even in its weakened state.

Electricity sparked from his claws as he tested this new power of demon might. It took out several trees and the fiery teen wasn't even trying there! Well pleased with this Thunder chi, he knew he was more powerful than before.

Now anyone who used those accursed electric water guns on him would be wasting their time. Drago was immune to those guns' attacks. At last, he finally lost a weakness against electricity!

With three demon chi's inside him, he was nearly half way to an even eight. Soon he could take over the world and crush his father beneath his feet. And his mother's kind would be made to suffer for an eternity as his slaves! Just like they should...

Drago knew he had better let this new power stay dormant inside him, so it could 'feed' off his Fire and Sky demon chi's for a while until it was back at a more usable state.

Even though it was powerful to humans, it was nothing to his father's kind at this level of strength. Drago needed ALL his demon chi powers to be at their best if he wanted to topple his evil Immortal parent and rule the world.

Casting a simple spell, Drago was satisfied. Even though it was now sleeping inside him, the Thunder demon chi would be back at its true strength eventually. When, that was something the fiery teen was not sure of, but he would know when the time came.

Now that he was immune to those stupid electric water guns, he had less things to worry about. Images of Jade's beautiful face kept reentering his thoughts and he knew he had to go to her. Afterall, he had promised a 'painting party' to her...
